Anyone got this yet? I've been to several record shops, Virgin, HMV and a couple of independants and only one place even knew it was being re-released. None of them had a copy.
I managed to pick up a promo last Monday, which I haven't listened to yet 
Has the release date been put back again, or are my local record shops utterly crap?
Ive just recieved my promo, still sealed, being an obsessive collector of promos Ill leave this one sealed and buy a cheapie from cdzone. Are there really only 150 promo copies of this?
Well - the question will have to be asked again - is this out now, or has it been sidelined yet again - just like everything the band ever issue these days.?
But it's not released on London Records this time is it? Can someone confirm or deny this? This is just getting too "confusing" for words. Maybe they should re-title the project "Frustration".
Opal.com said they shipped out the CD single on Wednesday... i didn't feel like bothering with the vinyl
I think my copy from Opal is on its way, cuz the money has come out of my account. By the way it won't qualify for charts beacuse it has 2 tracks more than the allowed 3. But frankly who cares about the charts anymore?!

What's the point of the arbitrary rules about what can qualify for the charts? I don't see what purpose they serve other than robbing the punter of additional tracks and obliging everyone to waste time and resources on nonsense like multiple versions of singles. All for the sake of a chart, which like you say, doesn't really mean anything anymore anyway.
Well, it's on the shelves today although I only saw two of the 12" (there should be three?).
God, that artwork really sucks.

Yup, I think that there are only 2x12"'s out there.
CD track times (I believe that these are edits, and that the full versions are on the CD promo/12"'s, but I haven't got the promo to hand right now) are as follows:
Catalogue number is WACKT002CD and, yes, the cover is absolutely crap - what a grainy photo!

glad they're edits myself as most remixes are overlong IMO. i get pissed off trawling through a remix waiting for something that vaguely sounds like the original. And for once there's even a bit of Hooky in there!!
confusion...a song way ahead of its time on release....proven by these mixes it has stood the test of time very well

Okay, now Mr. Discography has received his copies in the post this morning of the "official" 2 x 12"s and CD single. I already had the two limited edition promo 12"s, and this is where the discography details will get interesting.
It looks as if since the promos were made available, Barney Sumner has re-recorded the vocals for some or all of the versions. I've had to pay careful attention to each version, but the actual mix and music seems to be exactly the same for each version over the formats (edited CD excepted) - just the "official" releases have new vocals on. Confused?
Maybe that's the intention!
There are a grand total of 14 different versions on this re-release, including the promos, although only 11 have been "officially" released:

Blimey, that's taken some sorting out! There are some quite good remixes on there actually. The Electroclash mixes are a bit naff, and Arthur Baker's a bit boring, but The Koma And Bones and Outputs mixes rock quite well, actually.
Anyone know the "official" titles of the mixes on the promos, as mine didn't come with any track listing?
I was just notified by the place where I ordered the CD single, that it has been withdrawn. Based on the comments above, that sounds likely. Any truth to this?

When they introduced that "three song" rule a few years ago for chart qualification, DJs and remixers around the country got a bit worried about losing remixing projects as a result, so the rule only applies to CDs with different songs on, not a CD single with many different remixes of the one tune on. Therefore, as far as I am aware, 'Confusion 2002' is eligable for the UK chart - if it sells enough to get in there of course. saying that, i've heard the Koma And Bones edit being played on local radio here in portsmouth, so it must be getting a bit of airplay, and it's not a bad mix...

I haven't even seen a copy of this likewise in any of the record stores in Brum city centre yet. Must search harder. ;)

They were playing it in-store in Virgin today. Don't think they actually had it in stock though.

er, sorry, no. Though I think it was their in-store radio thing that they play in all branches. I wasn't really paying attention. Was too busy trying to get an answer about 'retro' ltd edition.
got the confusion ,arthur baker vs new order ,remixes on c.d from mvc.co.uk .no other shops in my area seem to stock it ,maybe due to changing release dates.not happy though,this c.d should have been in two parts and definately needs better artwork. p.s check out barneys jumper!

I bought a copy of the cd from the Virgin store in Manchester on Monday. I first tried to get a copy from HMV but they only had the 12"'s. They had the cd's listed in the racks but no copies. I'd asked at HMV about the cd a few days earlier and they told me it was just being released on vinyl. I quite like the cover. It reminds me of one of those old and faded family snapshots.
