How Important are The DoveBirds?

Lately a great many bands have surfaced with similar names: The Stripy Cats, Cradle of Filth, The White Sharks, Feeding Unit and the DoveBirds.

Given that Manchester usually outputs the leaders, and the DoveBirds sound pretty good compared with the other similar named bands except Cradle of Spit, do they warrant new leader status?

JD / NO / The Smiths / The Happy Moondogs / The Stone Roses / Oasis etc. etc.

... The DoveBirds?

Mind, I only say this because I liked their last song 'Pressure' - the rest seem a bit below par. The lead singer seems quite good.

So the answer is a definite 'yes'?

Donald - I rarely buy anything that's contemporary. Usually purchase a few years after the popularity has faded. Not sure why.

Why imply I'm stale. That's not nice.

I must say I have only heard the DoveBirds chart efforts - 'Pounding' seemed to be the only song I didn't tire of. I obviously need to seek further.

Only if I'm headed for a night out.

What would you be likely to sport whilst avoiding a tasty chill out compilation?

Slacks, braces and a tan brown period hat (1930's if you will). That usually does the trick.

Heard lots of the Doves when i was over in Scotland earlier this year, loved the whole album (Last Broadcast) although most of my friends here in Oz think it is a bit odd. Can anyone give me some info on a band named Idlewild. They were all over Radio1 in July and i have not heard anything of them here in Oz. Any information will be appreciated :evil4:
