An anti-spam filter is required? No shit, Sherlock.

Allegedly, new updates for NOOL - which would be the first major ones in what, a decade? - are underway but they're obviously not here yet nor has a release date been announced. Moderator Timbo has the details.

I thought you couldn't post unless you were registered and the registration process isn't automated here ... it's manually done by a Mod?

Someone has to register details, and then someone has to manually activate this.

I'd ban that Missy Rita for starters.

C'mon guys! Where else can I go but NOOL to get info on foreign fake passports? This website provides an important service!

I know, I know; my insights are "bleeding edge" - but can't we have some more people with mod powers to keep on top of the delete button until the new shell is loaded?

It is automated, no mod approval required, unfortunately. I've never had an approval request.

Latest news from Spotnick is non-existent. I'm seriously considering setting up a moderated board within a new site that contains the key elements from here, accurate info and doesn't allow spammers in.

As long as www.neworderonline.com remains the URL that would be cool. If it isn't then it would just become a worldinmotion or barneysangels.

Well it couldn't be neworderonline.com could it, as that is Spotnick's site and he ain't gonna surrender the domain name just like that. Could be neworderonline.co.uk or .net or suchlike though....

Sounds a little drastic. The spam is mildly irritating but we are all capable of ignoring those threads and finding the important ones about Sheds or foaming mad dogs etc.

He needn't surrender it, he can just arrange things so that the NOOL URL automatically redirects to the new site - If he's too busy to administer NOOL himself he might see this as an elegant solution?

Agreed. I don't think having an entirely new message board is necessary right now immediately. If there will be a site redesign/rebuild, (is it still something that might happen?), that's not too bad an idea. But for now, most people can ignore the spam (and in the meantime let the mods delete the spam as soon as they can).

Life's too short to get this angry at spam. We should stay calm and keep browsing the site. :read:  :thumb:
