in the UK about Factory Too... some stupid questions from my rampant curiousity
?...who/was are Factory Too? ?...are the Factory Too releases the same distinctive paper quality/ distinctive indie product style that stood out from the pack all those years ago, or are they just average? ?... are/did they pretty much just reprinting the old stuff that London doesn't want? ?... is it still an active business?
Factory Too... another "H" Wilson production! Don't know if it's still up and going (the site has been "under construction" for ages...) but I'm amazed how that scumbag still gets the money for his evildoings! Artists signed: -Durutti Column (only 2 releases I can think of right now: 1995's Sex & Death and 1998's When we were kids) -Something called "Monkeys" (no, NOT Blow Monkeys, I think it was Space Monkeys) Can't remember anything else, really! Not a very famous output, is it?
Factory Too??? didn't that little deal go under as well???
But I notice that on Amazon's UK site, most of the "albums" before Republic are on Factory Too...
not that this signifies anything....
Yeah, it was the Space Monkeys, but I sure as heck didn't find any FactoryToo records over here, just a promo single for Sugar Cane that I paid one dollar for. It was licensed to Interscope in 97, but that's about all that I have.
To confuse matters... 'Factory Once' appears to be the label London stuck their old Factory stuff on. They released the entire Durutti Column back catalogue (digitally re-mixed with buckets of extra tracks and shite sleeve notes from Anthony H. Wilson and (some) Happy Mondays stuff. The mighty Column did indeed release the 2 CDs on Factory Too Jorge mentions, they have released stuff sporadically (geddit???) on other labels. Creation released the ACR back catalogue and I recommend LTM for some other Factory bands (Stockholme Monsters, The Wake and others.
