Fuck off. Of course she was not Ian but there is a time when we need to spread our wings and leave the nest. Cannot you be proud of what New Order acomplished?
Gillian could not fill the void

And just to look again at one of my most favorite issues of Sound on Sound, the keys to True Faith are all hand played by her and figured out by her. Fantastic contribution to a fantastic track: Classic Tracks: New Order's "True Faith"

Wow, somebody's touchy over Gillian... I think some people just are waiting to be mad at Hooky... way to take what he was saying out of context. He mentioned how Ian directed the band and the sound was largely in part because of him... everyone else was a bit lost in what they were doing. Then when he died, they were all lost in direction and making music. Yes they gained Gillian, but she didn't fill the shoes of Ian, in how he directed the creation of music...
It wasn't harsh, mean or cruel... it was stating how the beginning of NO was confusing and why it took time for them to grow as a band...
Calm down... geez

Touchy re Gillian.....Yeah, Peter Hook it would seem.
Given the nature of Hook's comments towards members of New Order over the last 5 years & even more so over the last year, it makes it difficult not to see malice in his comments. It could be deemed generous, even naive, to give Hook's words the benefit of the doubt.

I think you're being pretty generous here. Hooky's made it pretty clear over the past year that he didn't think Gillian contributed anything at all, not just that she didn't replace Ian.
