I think we should start a benefit to raise money for his Holiness Mr. Wilson. Do I hear any donations starting at $100?
$50?
$25?
$15?
$5?
$1?
i have exactly 27p sitting in my kitchen, left over from when i moved back to the U.S.--do you think that would help our tony?

Nah, that's too much :D
ok, what about just the 2p, then? i mean, he did start factory and the hacienda and all that stuff. and i'm feeling particularly philanthropic today. :D

Cut the second penny in half, so you send him 1 1/2 p! Then, charge HIM for the postage....
I am being heavily sarcastic here (obviously), but yeah, for a man who started Factory records, he does deserve some credit.
and remember, he did sustain bodily injuries by starting factory and signing the 'contract' with JD in his own blood! i'd say that he deserves a mighty 2p of my money, for sure. ![]()
although...i don't think his head could fit through the post office (or wherever) door to receive the money order, so i guess that idea's out the window....
Why does everyone have it in for Mr Wilson?
Various ex-Factory band members might gripe on camera whenever they're given the opportunity, but if they really did have 'the freedom to fuck off' then why didn't they?
It must have been fine until it went wrong.
My ex girlfriend once bumped into him in Birmingham walking past the Plastic Factory (nice pun indeed) record shop. She said "Hi! Are you Tony Wilson?" and he said he was .... and..um....that was about the extent of it....

You sure that's all he did?......:D (just kidding!)
No - actually, he dropped his trousers and asked her to spank him in full view of the traffic warden coming up behind him....
;)

I would accept nothing less from the old man. Crafty sod, really.....did he offer her a record deal as well?

nah, why don't you give him the 27p and charge him 10% interest for every minute you've listened to a factory band...
