Sick of New Order?....yeah, it happens occasionally, but the same could be said for any artists that you listen to constantly over a period of time, then take a breather from. I can't remember the last time I popped in a Bowie cd, but that doesn't mean i'm gonna sale off my meagre collection just because of it. Nothing wrong with it, just so long as you still like the artist (and that's your decision to make)
has anyone gotten tired of new order?

As long as you don't encourage The LAUGHING GNOME!!!!!!
Never tired, but there are sometimes when I don't want to listen to JD/NO so I listen to something else. But JD?NO are always in regular rotation in my cd player, mp3 player, record player.

I havent gotten sick of NO, but then I dont get sick of any of my bands. I just take mini-vacations from them for about a day or so and then come back and make sweet love to them because I missed them.....but then maybe ive said too much

i keep remaking neworder compilations with different themes and different running orders so i get a different perspective. for example the disc i mailed Rocket titled "In Transition" has been redone 4 times now. I needed a disc with all the really good early material in good sequence.
Temptation - original Ceremony - original (slow) EGG Mesh Hurt Leave Me Alone
Basically everything up to 83 stopping just short of the Thieves 12". I also compiled an Instrumental/B-side/Remix CD with bits and bobs including Best and Marsh, Don't Do It, Happy One, Salvation Theme, Ruined ambient mix, Regret Slow n Low, Confusion Ambient mix etc...keeps it fresh.
I go in spurts (I know medical science can cure that, but stay on topic). I listen to a lot of New Order, then I hear something and I think "Wow, that is really cool" then I listen to someone else for six months... but I always return to my music roots - NO, JD, Cure, DM, PSB, OMD etc... that is the true measure of a band - not if they can top the charts of our hearts and minds for six months, it is about who do you go to when you really need something from your music. Well, the answer to that sure isn't Creed, Pearl Jam, POD, Apoptygma Berzerk, or anything like that...
Mr Streak

Actually that's a pretty good way of putting it.

How about the defence that you are an international crime magnet and just keeping abreast of current developments, through the use of a cunningly disguised listening device, after someone had tipped you off that they were on your case?
They are the International Police by the way (and that isn't a tribute band).
don't be so quick to judge! interpol maybe my new musical obsession...i've already started to post on an interpol board. great new york city band.![]()

Cheers for the offer Mock Duck but I think I might purchase a few PSB items. I was surprised to see the re-packaged 'Please' album and then noticed they'd re-packaged all of their general release albums. After closer inspection it appeared they'd re-mixed all of the songs on all of their albums ... I'm not the biggest fan of re-mixes but if they themselves have re-mixed their own songs I'm very very keen to hear the resulting material.
So the question is Duck Meat, you being a PSB fan of great esteem, do the boys enhance or dollop on their previous pride and joy? ... I would not like to hear the fabulous album 'Please sir, can I have some more mixes' if the fellas had soiled their own nests.
Was that what it was?

Some are tracks done at that time but never made the albums or a different take.I managed to get each double CD for £10 from MVC so this was good except when peeling off the £10 sticker it damaged one of the covers....all yellow one.....BISEXUAL...yes thats the one!:D But i have many sets of CDS that i MUST collect ALL.It is like that thing that people who need to wash their hands over and over.I used to do it with music.Being umemployed for 3 years STOPPED that!
But now i am working again i feel the impulse to buy 27 copies of CONFUSION just so i don't get confused.Still be out of a job by the 31 st of OCTOBER.The same date i lost my last job.I put this down to my ex wife PENNY being a WITCH:D:D:D
I think, with all this talk about listening to JD/NO, I may just go home and pop in all four discs of H&S and Les Bains as it's been a while since I gave all those a good listen to. Thanks, snucker!

I have been a New Order fan for 20yrs......NEVER getting tired of their music.....I listen to them at least 3 times a week (a custom cd I have burned)....It still feels like the first time I ever heard them......
Ive got tired of collecting New Order Cds and Vinyl,
who wants my collection? Some of it smells old, especially those old coloured sleeves of Procession they really 'pen and ink' something awful! Damned brown ones and light and dark blues, wot a pong!

No thanks but have you any OUT OF DATE
cos i can revitalize it:D
i went through a period during a few years in the 90s where i hardly listened to NO at all. not that i was sick of them, i just really got into other stuff. then all of a sudden i 'discovered' them again. right now they're like bloody heroin! i can't see myself ever tiring of them though, maybe just going through 'phases' of hardcore listening, and then off for a while.
Much as I love New Order, there are two other electronic bands whose output I have greatly enjoyed over the past few years, namely Mouse On Mars and Stereolab. Both these bands seem to excel at gradually reinventing themselves with each new album they bring out now.
The problem with New Order is they're now seemingly at the mercy of their disinterested paymasters at Warner Brothers Ltd who insist of milking their back catalogue for every last penny that there is, and in so doing, fobbing off their most important consumers - their fans - by bringing out one shoddy compilation and "best of" after another, without giving any real care or thought into how these things are being packaged. That to me is just deplorable. And so, I have to say that this kind of blatant disregard for quality just leaves a nasty aftertaste in my mouth as far as consummation of my enjoyment of New Order these days is concerned.
The same thing happened - and is still happening to this day - with fellow Manc legends like The Smiths and The Stone Roses. There should be a new law set up against this kind of practice....
are you kidding by asking this question????
Seriously, i may not play them for a few days, but the Order has been a mainstay for many years, just do not get tired of their sound at all

I mean, most of us have seen each other, some people have even met Jeffsy the Mad Mistic of Petrograd or whatever his current incarnation is. Erick East may or may not be Rocket Mick. But for all we know Huntsy could be a pringle fuelled Cyborg programmed by Nicos to churn out witticisms and keep the debate going.
Hehehe - Erick East is definitely not Ricket Mock !! Always had my doubts as to whether Huntsman and Patrick weren't in fact one and the same though.
Well, it's not true. He's him and I'm me.
