someone has a thread about being a little worn out on NO. I am not worn out on them, but it did make me notice how much I am into their music and exactly how many of their cds I carry around in my car on a daily basis. As of right now I have the following in my cd case:
-Substance (both JD and NO's)
-Here to Stay single
-60 mph hour single (with live versions of True Faith and Temptation)
-Unknown Pleasures
-Get Ready
-Crystal single
-Warsaw bootleg
hmmm thats eight if I counted right...whats in your car? huh, huh????? ![]()

I don't have any CDs in my car as my cassette player and my CD changer were both nicked. Six CDs were in the changer and one of them was "Twisted Tenderness Deluxe" CD 2. I had to buy it again just for the second disc. ![]()
No CDs in my pickup, just a tape player which has been playing some Warners promo from years ago (circa Substance).
I dont play my real cd's in my car, just because I live in fear they might get nabbed.
I only play my homemade cd's. So right now I have my Electronic best of vol.2 in my car. And I have my New Order best of vol.1 & 2 close by.
get ready...i know i said i was getting sick of NO, but i've haven't listened to it for 4 months.

Right on about the duplicates man. Thats smart. I hope to get a cd burner and do the same soon. Actually I plan on moving into a new apt soon and I plan on leaving the originals at my moms house! Is that overkill? ![]()

Ah the joys of a CD changer and a long drive to work....
En ce moment:
Joy Division - Preston, Substance (with the tracks burned into a more sensible running order) and the BBC one.
New Order - Technique, PCL, Reading 93, a homemade Sessions one and a homemade one of singles from TBTHOG to Here To Stay.
nae car, but in the CD player currently
24 Hr Soundtrack, JD Substance (CD in normal order:D ) Finsburgh Palace & Glasgow 89 Twisted Tenderpieces
Again I will state on here, very rarely get tired of the bands, if I do I switch attention to one of the side projects (almost always Electronic)
No car, but the CD player last night housed
Sugar - Live Minneapolis 84 Husker Du - The Living End Elvis Costello - When I Was Cruel A Means To An End - JD tribute album Joy Division - Closer
and the tape deck reverberated around the sound of
New Order - Austin TX 85 New Order - Chicago 85
Just taken Technique and LowLife out of my car after a long long time.
Both completely different styles of NewOrder and entirely dependant on my mood as to which one i listened too.
The only NO sounds in my car now is of GRrready
None, my car has no CD player (my first car -bought in 1995!- had a Sony radio with a 10-CD case, that's progress for you...) but I have a K7 with "Get ready".
A CD-R with non-album-tracks:
- Brutal
- Player In The League
- Sabotage
- Here To Stay
- Behind Closed Doors
- Such A Good Thing
- Isolation (Reading 98)
- Atmosphere (Reading 98)
- True Faith (Reading 98)
- Temptation (Reading 98)

EMINEM!??!?! hmm i can forgive you for this one, this time....but only cuz yer a fellow Texan....![]()
well...in all honesty...it's not mine...my sister left it in the car when I took her to pick hers up from the shop..and she forgot to take it with her...
oh, and I forgot...Saint Etienne-Smash the System...it also resides in my car...been listening to this one at work lately...
None, as I am stuck with a tape player ![]()
Actually made a NO tape, but the player's so messed up that it slows the songs down a bit. Not nearly as noticable on, say, Temptation, but when you get to Thieves or something like that it's unbearable.
new order: get ready and substance JD: still
i'm trying to put some live stuff on a CD-R for the car, but my burning program is being ornery. :(
none...have a mp3 player (Creative Jukebox) which has a majority of my music collection...including all New Order, which I wish I had more of....
Two cassettes: Republic and Low-life. I've been into Republic recently...I also have a compilation CD with alot of PCL, Republic, Raise the Pressure, a couple Monaco songs, but no Brotherhood or Technique. I would like to do a compilation with some of the "old school" stuff on it, mixed with some Factory re-releases. The good old days...
arrrghhh...i wish i had a cd burner already. too bad theyre not free :( anyways, i just put Republic in the car. As much as I love Special, Regret, World, and Ruined in a Day, I think that cd is one of their weaker efforts. But still better than most of the s**t out today. Also picked up (finally) my own copy of (rest of) New Order over the weekend. hmmm IS THE REMIX OF CONFUSION THE BEST N.O. REMIX EVER?!?! hmm me thinkst another post is coming on......

I bought one of those things as well...I put a nice collection of 60 New Order songs on it. Favorite car song: the BBC 2001 session of Close Range.

Jim...I'm doing the same thing. I love my Jukebox it's so convenient. Some songs sound great through it but some only sound so-so. I encode my mp3s using LAME via EAC at "alt.preset.standard". Wonder if I should've encoded at alt.preset.extreme. What are your mp3s encoded at? And how does your music sound though the jukebox? Do you notice any difference in quality from your CDs?
