Well, it's something that the three remaining JD members have agreed to. Do I want Jon Savages scribble though? hmm.
It's been removed from the Faber and Faber site as well.
I guess it's sold out?
I was in two minds about buying a copy and I could afford it but to be frank, £200 is a lot.
It does look like a nice package though for those who are Curtis aficionados (I'm more into "the band" as a whole).
As no longer available what's the difference between the £200 version and the £17 version which is out on 2nd October? The £200 version is autographed? Wow, pay £183 extra for the sake of autographs?😕
So I ordered the limited edition version (which was supposed to be released today) and have had a message from Faber & Faber today saying publication has been delayed for 3 weeks - hoping its not because one of the people supposed to be signing it have had a hissy fit after the publication of Bernard's book and Peters review of it.

Ken, I don't know the reason but I doubt it's hissy fit driven as the specifics will be contractual.

Its just the fact that I've paid £200 for it (although they haven't actually taken the money yet) - you'd have thought that for something at that sort of price,they could at least publish it on time, unless they're waiting for one of the people signing it to return from touring/promotional work overseas.
I've ordered a copy (£14 on Amazon) .Mixed feelings as i'm sceptical that there's anything that i haven't already read in the unseen lyrics section of Deborah Curtis' Touching From A Distance book.Some of those 'unseen lyrics' in that book just stop you dead in your tracks .What a poet.Mind boggling how Curtis created that stuff at such a young age.Chanelling?
Flicking through the Unseen Lyrics section again in Touching From A Distance, there's some real gems.

Received the book last week. A shame Curtis' notes and/or early lyrics to Decades were lost/not found/missing.Would have been interested more than any other JD song to see his early lyrical attempts at that song to get more of an insight to what he was driving at.Some of the notes in the book are frustratingly hard to read .Beautiful stuff though.Though beautiful as the lyrics and notes are don't they ultimately leave a negative and harmful impact if read and pondered over too much? Or as Paul Morley once opined, the people who would most benefit from listening to Joy Division are the ones who only find the music & lyrics repellent and the people who are attracted to the music and lyrics are exactly the ones that could suffer the most damage. Maybe, maybe not.It's a fine line.

True and funny aye.Though Bernard has come close to matching Curtis' lyrical brilliance a few times.Leave Me Alone being one fine example.
Daughter order bought me this for christmas, its like holding the Holy Bible,not a bad read either.

Bernard has written some very good lyrics over the years, Leave Me Alone is one, but I also have a soft spot for 1963. Whilst his lyrical content isn't always impressive, I still think he has a real talent for writing vocal melodies.
