Apologies if i'm late with this news but Amazon are listing the book as titled Coming Up And Coming Down and to be published on 10th September? (possibly around the time New Order's album will be released?) Is this correct?
I'm currently in the process of trying to purchase Kevin Cummins' New Order photo book but having trouble with my Amazon password.I'd forgotten all about that book- anyone got it yet?
Yeah I've got the photo book. Realy well presented, same format as The Joy Division one. Interviews with all band members, some rare stuff (pictures of) at the front including viking badges and merchandise. Some classic photos you would have seen countless times and rarer photos I have never seen. If you like The Joy Division book by Kevin you'll love this one. I now have a full shelf of new order, joy division and factory books with a new one by Peter hook on its way later in the year which will definitely be interesting!
I never got round to getting the Joy Division one.
On the subject of Hooky i was watching that BBC 4 doc tonight about band splits ( think it's been on a few times now?) and surprise surprise he was on there drivelling out the usual crap about he didn't leave the band they split up blah blah though it was refreshing to see the old NO footage they used was Thieves Like Us on TOTP from 1984 and Regret TOTP studio version 1993.Made a change from the usual BM totp footage.Still, i'll buy his book, looking forward to it
New Order's photobook is far better than the Joy Division one. The JD's photobook could be titled "Ian Curtis": more pictures from him than the whole band.
(I'm just kidding... Both are amazing... But I prefer the New Order one)
About Hooky's book... Several times I heard him say, including in Brazil when he came here and gave some interviews, that the name of his book about New Order will be "Power, Corruption and Lies: Inside New Order". Very weird.

Yeah i think i have read somewhere that's the title he's giving the book now you mention it so maybe Amazon have been given wrong info.
'Ian Curtis, killed himself.' You learn a new thing every day. I also heard PCL was the title - better than this one. Amazon are far from reliable...

Circa 2005 Amazon also bespoke a 'Best of Electronic' - no artwork, no track listing, just a Thursday release date. It's like Sarah Jessica Parker interviews: you need it straight from the horse's mouth.
