This would have to be a great track to not bring up memories of the past Billy Corgan and Anamatronic collaborations, which many viewed as cynical attempts to reach a broader (younger) audience:

Kind of obvious choice of guest if NO must insist on having at least one guest on each new album they do, nothing surprising having Brandon Flowers . Might be good might not.Have to be honest i did like a couple of singles off Flowers' debut solo album.Heard some new single off his upcoming new solo album though and it was bloody awful.

There's no point getting over-excited about every single rumour going about. When the album comes out we'll (dis)like it for what it is, not on the basis of some half-forgotten press talk. I actually liked the Corgan collab.

Flowers is great singer and musician, hope he can collaborate on the album.

I suspect it's more than a rumour if Tommy Chappers has chosen to re-tweet this from NO's twitter:

[TWITTER]599540829355679744[/TWITTER] I agree with you on Corgan. I like his distinctive voice (on record anyway, not so much live). The Smashing Pumpkins made several really good albums back in their prime. Namely: Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness, and Adore. I previously thought I was in a minority of one here in regards to liking him.

Having said that, I haven't liked anything The Killers or Flowers have done post- Hot Fuss. I'm a little disapointed that he's (apparently) involved.

I actually rate Sam's Town album very highly....almost every track is engaging [:p] ...and some very good tracks can be found in Day & Age and Battle Born...Miss Atomic Bomb is awesome!!!

But never liked Flower's debut solo.....and of course I hated their version of Shadowplay.

Having said that, I think Brandon Flowers is up there along side with Freddie Mercury....the best in rock..... lung-wise [:)]

I have to agree that their Shadowplay is not my cup of tea indeed. But their pop dance tunes are great!

Flowers album is out now and just gone to No. 1 in the UK charts earlier today (Sunday) I believe. No sign of his NO collab on there, so it's either on the new NO album or it's nowhere.

While my initial post may come off a bit negative, it's more to do with me not wanting collaborations on New Order LP's than my opinion of Brandon Flowers. I wouldn't mind if it was a non-album single.

I do like The Killers and Brandon Flowers. I've not listened to his new LP properly but like these singles from it: Can't Deny My Love, Lonely Town and I Can Change

Flowers does seem to have connections: Richard Butler (Psychedelic Furs) appears in the Can't Deny My Love video and Neil Tennant in I Can Change.
