My first thought was that they were possibly prescription sunglasses to help Barney read the autocue?

If you have sensitive eyes, stage lights, especially for TV performances, can be quite bright and hurt your eyes, so he may have been wearing sunglasses for that reason.
When the band were interviewed at the Q Awards, on the red carpet, Bernard was also wearing sunglasses.
He does look kind of cool with them on.
I wear my Sunglasses At Night...
(there's a new order connection if you listen to the whole track).
Ah i remember and loved that Tiga & Zyntherius track (from around 2002 i think) but didn't know that mash up with BM version- thanks for posting.
Maybe contact lenses or even laser eye surgery would be a better idea for Bernard? Maybe he's tried those and didn't get on with them.I'm sure he could afford laser eye surgery though is it correct it only works for long sightedness or is it the other way round?
