Still yet to hear Restless on uk radio. Admittedly I only ever listen to X Radio, Absolute, Radio 1 and crappy Capital. If Mute want to get commercial success then then should release Superheated in the winter.

Restless has had loads of play on BBC 6Music and Radio 2.Even Ken Bruce played it one time.
- Superheated--it needs no remixes, it's perfect in its form.
- Tutti Frutti--for big fat remixes.
- People on the High Line--I want to hear edits/remixes of this song, as it's there's so much that is buried in the mix that needs to be relieved... That guitar bit starting at 4:38 -- it's classic New Order, why didn't they use it throughout the song more prominently??

Bernard talked in the Radio X interview about a lot of the extended versions being stripped back to reveal some of the layers of the tracks that you can't hear so clearly. So even if this isn't a single, maybe you'll be in luck...

Regret, World and Spooky were good songs and good singles. As for the rest, Everyone Everywhere is one of my all-time favourite New Order songs!
Mine too! How that got overlooked as a single for Ruined In A Day is beyond me

As for Republic's songs declining in quality as the album goes on i think Get Ready declines even more so.Was never a massive fan of Someone Like You though i know a lot of people rate it highly.Rock The Shack, Close Range and Run Wild were all a bit meh.
Good point - in fact that applied to WFTSC to some extent too. That last track Working Overtime is probably the worst thing they ever did IMO (maybe tied with Rock The Shack!)
Music Complete is a different proposition completely, the standard of songs is consistent throughout.
On soulseek last night i saw a user who had a folder of Music Complete radio edits. Didn't manage to download them all, but they seemed pukka. Each track was shorter than on the album. Stray Dog instrumental
the radio edits are not too bad, the instrumental seems real enough.
wonder if it was in house promo. i don't think all the songs could be singles though.

Their is an instrumental for TV use etc: http://www.umusicpub.de/de-DE/Digital-Music-Library/song/307213/new-order-stray-dog I've failed to find a way to hear the whole thing though.

Only just saw this post.Interesting...You don't know or recall the username do you?
Which reminded me to look up the post in the New Album News thread from back in the summer. On page page 6 Debaser posted the UK iTunes track times that had just gone up on iTunes

.
Wonder if these are the radio edits you've obtained? Most are shorter either by a few seconds or as much as 2 or 3 minutes from what eventually ended up on the album.Though People on The High Line and The Game are actually longer in that list from July.

I have a recurring dream where Melanie C feeds me beer and kebabs in a pink dress. Don't know why I wear that. My fave off the album is Academic but as a more acoustic track it'd be difficult to mix. There was a remix of 'Run 2' as the second track off the 12" and it was cringe-worthy. What's the point? A safer bet would be Tutti Frutti - danceable, radio-friendly and mixable like Silk's Fine Time Mixes. We'll see. Ultimately it makes no difference cos the fans'll dig everything off the Net anyway.

ok, tutti frutti it is....
2 new mixes out.
the edit is different from the 'fan' one.
the hot chip mix is nice and blippy electronic, with a slower bpm to it.
nice.

well, the polls were right... tutti frutti nailed it.
after listening to the extended mixes..... i really like plastic as the next single.'
but the polls say singularity, which is also a good choice.
will most likely, a single will come out next year.
this has been a good one for new order.

although it won't necessarily be a single.
i'm really liking some of the academic break-downs (inst-bass-electro)
i'll post some samples of them..

i've always enjoyed this song from when the album came out.
so it's interesting to hear different variations of it..
here's 3 different takes on it that i created..

academic (acoustic edit) 4:49

the entire Republic album to me is perfect. i didn't always feel that way because I used to skip special, young offender, and Avalanche...but like a fine aged wine one day it all became perfect. when your driving down the road on a sunny Southern California day with the windows rolled down, bass turned all the way up forcing everyone to appreciate ruined in a day, spooky, and times change there's just no going back.
..oh yeah... definately Plastic because it is a BANGER. everyone needs to check out the Polygore club mix on YouTube . sounds like the intro to clockwork orange . 2 good
Thanks NEGATIVE1....you truly deserved to be New Order's official audio archive-specialists together with 50-pound note......and DigiMike Binoche our official video archive-specialist ![]()
continuing with fanmixes.
now that tutti frutti is out to mix also..
i've been playing around with it and, here's some results..

1 tutti frutti (i dont really care electro house edit) 5m:39s
a rather sparse electro version, with house piano, strings, and basic vocals
new order - tutti frutti(i dont really care electro house edit).mp3 Link: http://www87.zippyshare.com/v/AktMqReK/file.html
2 tutti frutti (youre that girl edit) 6m:03s
a more involved drum, keyboard and guitar versions. more in tune with the original
new order - tutti frutti(youre that girl edit).mp3 Link: http://www87.zippyshare.com/v/7Ke5g3vj/file.html
3 tutti frutti (a beautiful dream instrumental edit) 5m:28s
an interesting breakdown of the parts resulting in an instrumental much like the original
new order - tutti frutti(a beautiful dream instrumental edit).mp3 Link: http://www87.zippyshare.com/v/jA438EYx/file.html
enjoy.

Well, good call, from the polls.
Singularity was winning also, and will be released in March.
Maybe one more after this, or that might be it for the album.
later -1
Again, now the singularity is on the verge of coming out.
Will that be it for the album. I think so. Only on a rare occasion have they released a 4th single.

I'm hoping Academic will round off an even four singles from Music Complete. Wonderful track. We've had a guitar track with Restless, two dance tunes in the shape of Tutti Frutti /Singularity so a return to guitars (with an electronic edge) would be perfect to balance things out. Academic was released as remix stems along with Tutti Frutti and they've just introduced it into the live set which is hopefully further evidence it might get it's own release.
I know Mute's approach has been remix heavy but a b-side, no matter how low-key would be great... even just a Stray Dog-esque instrumental for the fans perhaps.
I think there'll be a 4th single.But that'll be it i reckon; i'd be very very surprised if there's a 5th.
You'd put money on a 4th single being Academic or Superheated or maybe People On The High Line but they may surprise us and stick out something like Unlearn This Hatred which i'm not a big fan of though i don't mind extended version.
I hope they are hoarding ideas and songs, and deftly and kindly give us b- sides, instrumentals, a 4th single , lost completes, and Bernard is the next James bond, with purple and black singularity single aston db11 and an oyster or wally yacht with new order joy division graphics, and a new order airship if it is not too much troube.
