Lyrically and vocally I feel this album is better than WFTSC. Most of Barneys lyrics I can hear clearly but there's the usual few bits that I can't work out.

The first line of tutti fruiti sounds like "life is so grazy these days"

Then on academic something about "over the eye remember you" and "the temp is rise, that stops all time, and lovers eyes erupted harmony"

Tutti Frutti "Life is so crazy these days"

Academic " Oh baby i remember you" and (sounds like) "The tempers rise, that stops all time, and lovers eyes are locked in harmony"

Not completely certain on the tempers rise thing😕 .

That's what I hear, too.

It's "Are we the master or slave?"

This is a great line from Bernard that really struck me immediately when i first heard it.It's so true; at times i feel like a master of my life (when i'm at home or out doing things i want to do) and other times i feel like a slave (when i go to work).Such is life, to have a place to live and enjoy time in that place and to do things you want to do in life you have to work.Unless you win the lottery.

There was a time My world belonged to you But I was so misguided in my youth I couldn't help but drink this poisoned brew You had a strange perception of the truth

Oh baby I remember you Oh baby I remember you

Cos your heart is cold And your blood runs dry You'll never see or hear the crashing of the sea The tempest rise That stops all time When lovers eyes are locked in harmony

I was aware that danger lay ahead And I couldn't bear This stranger in my head Have you got a face Have you got a soul Well he ain't got nothing Not even a hole I gave up trying A long time ago And your fate was designed But you didn't know

Oh baby I remember you

Cos your heart is cold And your blood runs dry You'll never see or hear the crashing of the sea The tempest rise That stops all time When lovers eyes are locked in harmony

Take that with a grain of salt, though - Japanese lyrical inserts are frequently wrong. New Order have never printed the lyrics to any songs in any albums, so someone had to sit around and make a best guess, same as we're doing.

Well, they were in all caps and I remember in BL's album, the liner notes said they got the lyrics from the band. Basically the band or the record company gave the JP record company the lyrics. That's what they do these days. In the past they were inaccurate, but not these days. So these are more accurate than these misheard lyrics. I can try to ask the JP record company Traffic Inc if you dont believe me.

Oh. Then take what *I* said with a grain of salt. [:d] [:d] [:d]

“You've got me hanging, like a berk out on a wire”

You'd think it was “bird”, but I really hear it as “berk” every time, which actually makes perfect sense in the context of the song, even if very unexpected.

American's might need to look that word up…

I asked the Japanese record label Traffic(the record label they're signed to in Japan) about the lyrics sheet, and they confirmed that it's official. So it's not misheard lyrics- they officially got it.

it would be nice to have the lyrics of all the songs. I am surprised it's not on the official website or anything.

Yes although it's always fun to mishear Barneys lyrics.

And Thank Christ there's no "hey there man what ya gonna do?" repeats!

I found this site that has all lyrics for all 11 songs. However, I found a lot to be wrong or debatable. (Either that or I really can't understand what he's singing)

l always love to be reminded "to keep it true". maybe i'm just 'backdated', and need to lose this hatred . so, i will keep it true, unsing this =jaunty tripe . meanwhile, there are 10 great songs out of 11, and 'stray dog" seems to be a love letter from bernard to his wife.

Oh dear, whoever deciphered a lot of those lyrics needs their frickin ears syringing.

For Restless "But it's not hopeless ,If you take rest" ? Always thought it was "If you take risks" or maybe "If you take less" which both make sense, but "take rest" ?????

Interpretation of Academic is just a joke - "Already, i remember you" is just about an understandable mishearing though wrong. But "You'll never see or hear the crouching of the sea/The tempt at wise had stopped so tight" Crouching of the sea? WTF lol "Tempt at wise" ? Nope, makes no sense whatsoever

Apparently the Italian spoken words at start of Tutti Frutti are

"Tutti frutti Amore mio Tutti frutti No Non è ancora il momento di entrare. Non è ancora il momento di…"

And at the end

"Non mi interessa il nome vero Non mi interessa la vita reale Quella canzone E tu? Sei tutti frutti"

Anyone able to translate Italian into English??.......

Bing and Google Translate result:

"Tutti Frutti My love Tutti Frutti no It is not yet time to enter. It is not yet time to ... "

"I do not care as true I do not care about real life That song And you? Six tutti frutti "

Might be my middle aged ears, but Barney's vocals sound lower down in the mix than usual; I can't make out a lot of the lyrics.

His voice has also dropped an octave which makes it easier to sing along to... As long as you can work out the words. [:)]

"I do not care as true I do not care about real life That song And you? Six tutti frutti "

I did Italian at school. Admittedly that was some time ago now. But I can tell you that 'sei' not only is the number six but is also part of the verb essere (to be). "Tu sei" means You are (like "tu es" in French), in the singular/familiar sense. Which makes more sense than 'six' in this context. And You? You are Tutti Frutti!

EDIT: Oh also, in the line "Non mi interessa il nome vero", the last three words mean "the real name". So the google/bing translation of "I do not care as true" ain't quite accurate. He's saying: "I don't care about the real name". He may mean YOUR real name in this context, I'm not 100% sure.

And one more. The line: "Non è ancora il momento di entrare" is reasonably accurately translated as "It is not yet time to enter". But in this context I believe 'entrare' can also be translated as "to go". "It is not yet time to go" would perhaps make more sense.

So Debaser translation (ahem!) is more like:

Tutti Frutti My love Tutti Frutti no It is not yet time to go. It is not yet time to ... "

"I do not care about the (your?) real name I do not care about real life That song And you? You are tutti frutti

First up I heard the start of the second verse of "Tutti Frutti" as,

I had a beautiful dream/ Full of bitches, so serene

Almost spat out me tea! But now I think I prefer "my" version [uhoh]

I still can't decipher the last line of chorus in plastic.

Cos you're so on it?

Cos you're so honest?

Cos you're so honoured?

Ha!

This is my favourite line on the album, as it really sounds like Barney was struggling for a line and just read what ever was in the newspaper
