Got it today a day early. The slipcase is as unexciting as you would expect. MC cover with no colour. Also not easy to figure out how many singles it will hold!

What material is it made from?

Is it plastic?

😀

You could probably get 5 or 6 in there since the CD single is a card sleeve. The case is black and white cardboard with 'Music Complete: Singles' on the reverse and spine. Mine was a bit squashed like my WFTSC 7" one was [ohwell]

No. It's Restless. Pay attention!

[eek3] Is that a natural material or synthetic?

For this band, synthetic comes naturally.

I fitted 3 card sleeve singles comfortably into the slipcase I got today. 4 would put some strain on it in my opinion so I guess we have a further 2 singles to look forward to... 3 max.

The slipcase is not exactly lavish, very basic, black and white.... be careful with them 'cos they'll bend and crease easily.

... and we've only once had four singles from an album!

Just finished listening to the Maida Vale session on R6 and the postman immediately delivers my Restless CD single.

Not destined to get a great deal done today...

Mine arrived about ten minutes before NO-on-6Music. The card sleeve was kinda squashed for me too. Been trying to un-squash it, and the side edges are most definitely creased.

Still, at least the NO store got the order correct and delivered on time. Don't know what you've all been moaning about!

The slipcase itself is quite underwhelming. Mine's all squashed too. Got some other cd's in it trying to flatten it out. Where's the iron?

The CD and slipcase had come through the door when i got home.Slipcase has a slight crease on the bottom but not too bad.I fitted 4 CD card singles in quite snug.I reckon it's designed for 4 singles though i know some of you reckon 3.But certainly no more than 4.I tried 5 but it wasn't having that. Not listened to the xxxxy Build Up Mix yet.

The exact same thing happened to mine. I think that's basically because the slipcase is very cheaply made and not much to write home about in that regard. Still, it's free so no point moaning too much. I will give praise to the NO store over one thing, my items arrived very well packaged and protected.

The only thing I think is slightly poor for those of us who paid for the HD Audio Download of Restless (due out today) is it's the middle of the afternoon and the download links have not yet been released so erm why the hold up? Does anyone know if the Digital Copy included with the limited edition green 12" includes the HD files? I haven't redeemed my code yet. The Digital Copy with vinyl copies of the album definitely included HD.

The download code includes both mp3 and FLAC versions. You can download all mp3's either separately or as one zip file. FLAC's have to be downloaded one by one.

FYI - I ordered a copy of the 12" from Amazon US. Like the album, it appears that they did a separate pressing for the US market. The US "Restless" single in the 12" format has a catalog number of 9631-1 (instead of 12MUTE541).

In case any of you collector geeks out there care about this sort of thing!

One creased and one pretty mint! I reckon 3 Singles or they will all get damaged. Now should I play the bloody CD?[;)] 😕

Loving the 12" extended mix. Feels very much like their classic extended single versions from days of old. Some extended mixes meander a bit, but this version has nothing superfluous and feels like the sort of thing that wouldn't be out of place on 'Substance'. Much better than the slightly shorter extended version on the Japanese 'Music Complete'.

Wonder which of the two extended versions will feature on the deluxe vinyl edition?

Scratched my Restless CD sleeve trying to get the cellophane off [:|] . Too bad there isn't a jewel case. Even if it was one of those thin plastic cases that most CD singles used to come in.

The Agoria mix is growing on me. xxxy mix is decent, though it doesn't leave much of the original track. It sounds quite 'Mute'. Actually all of these mixes are very listenable. Weatherall's mix makes me want to dance the most though.

It took me ages and I still put an indent in the sleeve. Grrr.

I went down this path too. The alternative sleeve alone was enough to entice my completist dark passenger.

They've now shipped as well.

The 8.14 extended gives a lot of emphasis to the instrumentation and playing that isn't so audible in the more standard shorter versions.Really brings out the acoustic guitar, electric guitar and the strings but does end up a bit all over the place in terms of direction but that's not a problem -if i want to hear a more focussed and direct version there's the single version or the album version or the Japanese CD bonus version (though that one again ends up a bit all over the place!)

xxxy Build Up Mix is pretty good, nothing really ground breaking but i like it, will certainly play it a lot.

I dunno about how many singles the slipcase is designed to hold - tried again with 3 and they are a bit loose inside and liable to fall out whereas with 4 they are a teeny weeny bit tight but not so much that they'll stretch the slipcase.Just guess we'll have to wait and see!

UK 12" - day-glo green on sleeve, dark green heavyweight vinyl, black paper inner sleeve lined with plastic, download code is on a sticker.

US 12" - duller green on sleeve, seafoam green lightweight vinyl, basic white paper inner sleeve, download code on a nice printed card.

I maintain that the special slipcase will hold 5 CD singles.

This would match my theory that the 5 images in the cd booklet (excluding the black and white version on page 3 of the front cover art) will match 5 singles. The second image (after the black and white version of the front cover) is a black and white of the Restless artwork, the next image is a black and white of the Tutti Frutti artwork- you can see a pattern emerging here.....I'd be willing to put money on this artwork (the next in the booklet after the black and white of the Tutti artwork) being the artwork for the third single - in a coloured version of course.

The US 12" is a little disappointing.

Lighter weighted vinyl and the sleeve isn't the official vibrant green from Saville's Music Complete palette. Surprised it got through QC.

Moreover at time of pre-order, Amazon had this as a yellow sleeve which would have been a nice point of difference.

So, apart the one with the Radio Edit, was there another promo CD or vinyl for Restless?

Does anyone have an idea of where to find the Andrew Weatherall Dub (7:13)?

Hi mate! Apart the official commercial releases, I've only seen two promo CDs of "Restless": a one track disc in cardboard wallet and a two tracks CD-R from US in a jewel case. None of them with the Andy Weatherall dub. Perhaps it might be a not on label unofficial digital release as it Agoria Dub was before its release in the "Music Complete" furoshiki box.

You may be right... from what I know, there are instrumental (not "dub") versions of every Restless & Tutti single remixes, probably Singularity and POTHL as well. And there's still the Music Complete Instrumentals album:

http://www.umusicpub.co.uk/en-GB/Digital-Music-Library/album/63325/music-complete-instrumentals

I've tried unsuccessfully to register at that website... if they don't intend to release it commercially, at least make the download available as a gift for the fans? [:d]

That "instrumental album" is available only for promotional purposes, I suppose. I've also tried to register for an "academic interest" based on my work in the university, but unsuccessful. My brother is a former DJ and he got a partnership once with Universal Music Group for a night in a club dedicated to Nine Inch Nails' music. At that time Universal gave him some promo CDs of "In Teeth" to give away to the clubbers that night. I dunno if he still have his contacts at UM - if yes, maybe we have a little chance to put our ears over that instrumentals.
