maybe someone here should register as a dj needing these tracks for remixing purposes....then we all could listen to full instrumentals [:d]

Indeed. or do we have any BBC lurkers or others working in the media around these parts? I know we have had BBC employees pop up here before to tell us how they're using NO in a BBC4 documentary etc...

Interesting stuff, but we will get to hear them? It all seems rather official and locked down. Fingers crossed.

Very exciting stuff! Hoping these get released to the wider public in some form or another. Really craving a listen!

My vote for most improved would probably go to Plastic.

Nice find!

My vote for most improved would probably go to Plastic.

Agreed… I've got used to the vocals now, but still think it might be better without.

Oddly, while I was crying out for instrumentals from the last few albums (all are packed with great tunes with awkward lyrics) this one would just be a nice thing to have. I think the lyrics sit with the music SO much better than recent efforts.

I think "stray dog" would improve immeasurably in instrumental form......

I agree with this as well. I normally love Iggy Pop's solo work, but his voice is just way too raspy on this track and feels out of place on the album. The lyrics are not particularly strong either. Musically it already sounds a lot like The Other Two, so removing the vocals wouldn't make it a bad intermission instrumental.

It was “Stray Dog Instrumental” that I was searching for when I found the original link.

ok, my instrumentals are unofficial edits, that i made.

i've shortened the versions down from the full extended ones, by removing sections that seemed repetitive.

here's one of restless (instrumental edit) 5m:38s:

01 New Order - Restless (instrumental edit).mp3

Link: http://www8.zippyshare.com/v/j5DRKhY6/file.html

i'll post them in bundles, once they are all ready.

Thank you very much for the work, will be downloading these with interest.

But, does nobody have the official instrumentals that are apparently out there (repetitive or no)?

My damn PC won't download the Restless file, as it is "unsafe" - FFS!!

I hope the extrapolations keep coming , it would be a mistake not to have bono/ gaga remixes, the Bruce and Dylan/ Barbara Striesand/beyonce ,,and /or megadeath/ ozzy/ / acdc/ motorhead remixes, quranic interpretations or peruvian la quena / mucho melodica remixes, or 3.7 degree Kelvin background radiation remixes

Stray Dog is one that I had been searching for as well.

Thank you for those -1, I'm all over it!

(One slight glitch to report; MediaFire is blocking the POTHL edit, saying it may be available to download from Amazon and linking me to them - no idea why, as he other 3 tracks worked like a charm.)

Yours gratefully, R.

Feedback:

These instrumentals are fantastic. Restless and Stray Dog in particular benefit from the treatment.

With this version of Restless, I can better understand Barney's preference for it - everything is there and it works so well.

Thanks also for the bonus Agoria mix - sadly, the Smart Screen filter says it's unsafe and has blocked it!! Hopefully, others have more luck. [EDIT: Alternate linked worked great - thanks.]

Great work, -1, I doff my cap in your virtual direction.

thanks for the comments, and glad you enjoyed them.

i do like stray dog much better as an instrumental.

restless needs the lyrics though, but is its own theme as an instrumental.

try the alternate links i've posted above.
