"This Time of Night"...always been my favourite.

It would have been TPK if it were the full length version. Now the choice is difficult... Let's say Love Vigilantes: incredible lyrics to start an album, a little bit like Forbidden City on Raise the Pressure.

Sooner Than You Think

Love the way the synths kick in.

I voted for Love Vigilantes but Face Up comes in a close second. The energy level and the way the guitar comes in with vengeance near the last third of the song--wow!

This Time of Night, hands down....so moody, and I absolutely love the drums in it. :drummer:

I voted for This Time of Night as well -- and by the way, the live version on Pumped Full of Drugs is fantastic!!!

Love vigilanties. Absoulute classic, cannot believe it's not on retro. As far as i'm concerned that's the biggest mistake on the tracklisting.

sunrise has the best guitar on ANY New Order song....

I can't figure out why 'This time of night' is so popular... Amazing! For me 'The perfect kiss' seems like a logical choice, although I like 'Love vigilantes' and 'Face up' very much too. But overall, I'm not THAT excited over this album. In the time it came out, I was absolutely addicted, I admit, but I just played all of their records again and this one really wears a bit thin now... A high point it isn't any more for me, and I most definitely won't play it in the foreseeable future, cause there's so much more to enjoy on the other New Order records!

I voted for The Perfect Kiss, despite the fact that the album version doesn't stack up to the awe-inspiring Substance version. Elegia is positively beautiful, Sunrise is pleasantly dark, and This Time of Night is a superb song. All in all, those 4 songs make the album for me.

TPK, it's perfect pop. Closely followed by This Time Of Night which has a chilling beauty that New Order seem to capture at unexpected moments.

Sunrise rocks like a bastard.

I'm going with "Love Vigilantes" here. "This Time of Night" comes in second. I still can't believe they left it off Retro!
