guess i'm the only one by now, but i choose "Paradise", even if the re-worked version they played live in 1998 has a bit more power.

Count me too.
BLT introduced me to New Order... I hate the live version, but I just can't get enough (of this)...
BLT on the album seems much more naive compared to the ultra slick Substance version, so I voted for it (close second is As It Is When It Was, however)

but remember...the substance-version hasn't any Hook Basslines!

BLT is too easy a pick. As It Is...makes me cry ![]()
But I would have to say Weirdo. I care not for the lyrics, but the music mooooooves me.
Hmm...close call between As It Is When it Was and All Day Long, but I'm gonna go with...
All Day Long
Just brilliant...

ELC ( a mate who worked in Jumbo (indie record shop in Leeds) said sooo many people brought it back after purchase that they had to contact Factory to make sure it should finish like that)
Broken Promise. A classic "bitch done me wrong and I aint man enough to leave" NO song. "I cry out in my lonliness while you sleep in your peace."--gotta love that line.
I have been lisenting to this album alot recently and a damn fine album it is. Orginally voted for Every Little Counts but I not so sure now. It's All Day Long, No Paradise, No Broken Promise, no... ah fark it I'm a confused individual.
"All Day Long", certainly, because its whole structure, a very sycronized duel between acoustic and electronic tools. I think Bernard likes its structure too, 'cos he surely repeat it in his Electronic project, "Some Distant Memory". Somebody to agree me?

Listen to Catch by The Cure. It was released in 1987 and employs a similar, though not as grandiose, sound to All Day Long. It's just one of many examples of the 2 bands "influencing" each other.
BLT is one of my truly favorite three or four New Order songs, but its the versions on Married to the Mob, and on the Substance Album (the 12" single) are my true favorites. I like Weirdo, a little better than the original version of BLT, its just an incredible song, truly incredible and for me the highlight of a deeply inconsistent album. All Day Long, BLT, As it is when it was, Weirdo and Every Little Counts are my favorites off the album, but I'll go with Weirdo as my #1 favorite.
I have to say "Bizarre Love Triangle" because this is my favourite version of it. But there are so many good songs on this CD, if there was no BLT, it would be "All Day Long", "Weirdo" and.... hmm, well I guess most of Side 1.

True, and one of my favorite dance songs of all times too!
I think Paradise is the standout track. The obvious classic BLT has not dated as well for me. I think the production of the album was poor, it sounds so compressed particularly on the guitar songs.
BLT is champ on that album (the best version in my humble opinion), but Angel Dust should run a close second. Great song...a bit underrated I think, although it has scored high on the poll. Could've been a single.
Way Of Life--the energy is fantastic. Unfortunately the production was crap but hey it's a great song and that's all that counts, particularly the guitar lines.
I've got to go with "Broken Promise" on this one. I think its catchy and not overplayed like BLT. I love this album and every song on it except Every Little Counts...oh well its not so bad that I skip it. Anyway...yeah.
