It is a great compilation, but do any of the proceeds go to the victims of the bombing, seeing as on their website they mention the recent atrocity, I would hate to think they are cashing in on the city due to what has happened.

The website is nothing to do with Cherry Red, and this has been in the works for months.

Looks like a nice set. Lots of great tracks and quite a few I don't know / don't have.

Shame that Tasty Fish isn't on it. Maybe, they class Steve & Gillian as Macc rather than Manc!

Also, non-New Order related, I'd have liked some Music For Aborigines / Weaveworld on it. Sitting On A Biscuit and Davy Jones. But one can't have everything.

I am quite tempted by it...

If they were going to be that exacting they wouldn't have The Chemical Brothers on there. Although Tom & Ed met in Manchester they are both from the south of England.

Hadn't thought of that. Difficult to know where to draw the line, I guess. Still I want Tasty Fish on there, dagnammit.

Too Much.

Why no Hollies and Bee Gees? They're from fucking Manchester!

I'm the only person I know who dislikes Tasty Fish. I find it insipid, twee and just the kinda limp-wristed synthpap the fashionably unfashionable music press would've hated from anyone else. Desperate to justify their NO obsession, NME and MM plugged the singles as 'perfect pop' - sadly, this meant Debbie Gibson rather than Donna Summer. Bland, formulaic and uninspired, but not quite as bad as Revenge.

Take That have been ignored too, it's a fucking joke if you ask me.
