I thought I’d mentioned this before on the forums, but can’t seem to find the post.

Finally managed to find the order form (with photo) for this New Order designed football shirt:

https://ibb.co/0tGmpJv

Anyone ever seen one of these?

I think it was available in about 1992/1993. David Smith, who used to run the Paradise fanzine (and was a friend of mine back then), was the only person I knew who had one.

I’m guessing that, much like ‘Stray Dog’ beer, the band had minimal input on this. They probably chose two colours, along with a badge from a choice of three etc.

Still, a bit of an oddity and just thought I’d post it in case anyone was interested.

PS Anyone know how to post an image directly here? Tried to post it above but had problems.

I vaguely remember seeing one or two fans at Reading 93 wearing a sort of New Order football shirt but looking at that pic from your link I don’t recall them being like that.

I use postimage.org to host pics, Selecting “ for message boards” is best option. Also there’s option to upload pic from your hard drive.Right click on the image and select copy image URL adress before going to postimage.org then on here select the little icon with a couple of mountains with a red dot above and paste into box. Clear the https//: part from the box before pasting.

Thanks Fotz.

Will try that:

Edit: Worked. Yay! Had to use the ‘direct link’ rather than just the ‘link’ supplied by postimg.

Thanks for your help.

Actually if the pic is already on the internet you don’t have to bother with postimage.org - that’s just for only if you’re uploading a pic from your hard drive you’d have to use that image hoster. Sorry for not making that clear. If you’re posting image that’s already on the internet just right click and copy image URL address then select the mountains icon on here, clear the https//: part that appears in the box and then paste URL adress. I think it asks you to name pic but just press ok

I've got one of those (although I don't remember seeing it since we moved house...).

It's frankly horrible. Made from horrible itchy fabric, and the as the colours are meant to represent both Manchester clubs I wasn't, and will never be, seen dead wearing it!

Yep. It was horribly garish and hence why I didn't buy one. Don't ever remember seeing my mate wear it either.

Seems odd that City colours were included, considering Sumner and Hook are Utd fans. Am presuming that Steve was a Macclesfield Town supporter. Not sure if Gillian had any allegiances Maybe they were humouring Mr Robert Leo Gretton at the time.

Just as an aside, it's weird to think that for probably the most famous 'Manchester' band ever, Gillian was the only one of the five (including Ian) that was actually born in Manchester.

Saw one on eBay about a decade ago. Passed on it, as it looked like I wouldn't be able to get it tailored into coolness.

Based on the above responses, it was a good move.

Oh it's half city, half united. I was thinking it just looked like a shit Palace shirt!

(Non-football fans: Shit Palace is the name of a south London team).
