Republic: new news?

Mr Neworderweb.net has been dropping some hints of something Republic-y on his twitter. Looks like the forum on that website doesn't work any more. He still pops up here occasionally doesn't he?

Anyone know anything?

I saw Steve had posted that last image on one of the NO Facebook groups I'm a member off.

Wonder what it's all about. Seems strange for Republic to be getting some love at this moment, what with the reissue campaign presumably running in order.

Maybe he's just using the imagery from Republic (i.e. the sort of 'advert' feel to the sleeves) to highlight something New Order-y coming, but not necessarily Republic itself.

Sorry no idea what it means but I did see this myself and after reading PO comments I think he’s right about it not being about Republic but just something ‘new’ from new order which could be the MiF release with the Decades doc

Republic was my first exposure to NO and holds a special place. Wouldn’t it be great if they decided to do the definitive editions out of order?

Folks, Steve Smith runs his own New Order website. If there was any news about a Republic box set, it would come through New Order's official site, their social media, legitimate music websites, and press releases from Warners.

Maybe they are releasing the Box Sets in quality order - worst to best?

Movement > Republic > Brotherhood > Low Life etc, and hopefully not including the 2 real duffers GR & WFTSC.

I'm sure it says somewhere it's a coffee mug

Maybe he's just relaunching his website.

If so, it's a weird order.

Or maybe Steve is simply showing off his newfound mastering of Photoshop?

You know what? I'm blaming Steve for over-teasing this. It's a badge. A f*cking badge. Republic themed badge to celebrate ten years of his website.

I mean, obviously the order wasn't right in terms of doing the box sets, but I thought he might have been teasing something a little more exciting than this. He's posted it on to the closed "New Order" group on FB and on his twitter. 🙄

If I delete the first post in this thread, the whole thread goes, right? I'm tempted.

Bit of a tease, but thought it might be website related. Seemed unlikely that Republic would be reissued before PC&L and the other three.

Still, nice badge. Congrats to him and his website.

I just about finished Hooky's book Substance (and soooo many drugs). Anyway, it has me dead curious to hear what the three of them did on Republic before Bernard came and redid a large swath of the album. Anyone ever catch a bootleg or two?

I’ve never heard of any demos circulating.

It is intriguing to think how the songs might’ve sounded. I may have liked the tracks more.

When are you planning on finishing the book and the drugs?
