Some great photos on there. A few I hadn’t seen before. Thanks for that. There’s some nice modern-era ones of the band with Iggy and ones with the wonderful Daniel Miller that I really liked.

Obviously though, the 80s ones are the ones I love most (and not just the ones of the lovely Miss Gilbert 😉).

Talking of photos, i quite often wonder what rare photos are in the hands of collectors. For instance, it would be great to think that there were photos of the legendary Beach Club gig. Or, even better, how about one of Gillian on stage with Joy Division playing guitar on ‘I Remember Nothing’?

I was actually bored at work the other day and looked through some of the older photos from the 80s and 90s.

Some of the photos make the band out to be so buddy-buddy or as if they were a little family and were sincerely having a good time.

I've read Hooky's and Sumner's respective books about New Order and these pictures tell a totally different story.

Hooky and Barney smiling together (despite their obvious contentions), Gillian and Hooky looking comfortable with each other (despite Hooky's disenginuous feelings of Gillian's contribution in the band). It all seems very odd.

I was thinking the very same thing earlier.

If I had to bet, it probably wasn’t that bad and they did all really like each other at the time. Recent bad blood has probably skewed Sumner and Hook’s perception of history.

I’m not saying that the events mentioned didn’t happen (although there may be some embellishment / revisionism), but these events probably weren’t that annoying at the time. It’s typical for human beings to over-exaggerate minor annoyances after other much bigger shit has happened.

But, who knows? I’m only speculating and I guess it’s wishful thinking on my part. I want to think that they were four friends having fun whilst making great music.

Bernard was quite handsome ,and some might even say beautiful. If he exercised and ate less he might be more fetching now. Luckily he works at making music ,which is more important . In any event ,I certainly love him dearly.
