Just listening to radio 6 and it just said Steve Morris is with Mary Anne Hobbs to play an exclusive new order track. Does anyone know if this is a NEW track or is it just from the PC&L box set?
I was working so may not have the detail I should!

I reckon it’ll be one of the demos or something from the upcoming box set.
God they’re really starting early with the promo stuff for the box aren’t they. Or at least Steve is, he seems to be doing it all himself. The box isn’t out for another 5 weeks or so yet.

Well yes, but isn't something (like a demo for example) that's previously unreleased, demo or not, technically an exclusive? I remember just before the Movement box came out, Mary Anne Hobbs saying she had an exclusive New Order track and it turned out to be the Ceremony demo that had previously been unreleased.Or maybe Mary Anne Hobbs has a different opinion to other people of what an exclusive is.

Agreed. If I had to guess, it will be something similar to what she did before. In other words, a demo from the forthcoming box set, rather than an exclusive new track.
Either way, I'll be happy.
Mary Anne confirmed today not brand new music but a version we would not have heard before. So definitely from PC&L box set.
and the track is...
...
Age Of Consent (Writing Session Recording)
Sounds pretty good. Completely instrumental. Really nice to hear guitars clearly and the seemingly additional synth bits at the end. As a mate of mine pointed out, it seems to change tempo a few times too.
Interesting to hear the genesis of one of the band's absolute classics.
Yep, interesting to hear that early instrumental version of AOC and nice added synth melody towards the end that didn't appear on the final mix.
Steve also said that one of the versions of BM in the box set is "the one that purports" to be the version that got lost when he had his "inner Frank Spencer moment" ha! and tripped over the power lines. So it might not have been totally lost then? Though still some doubt as Steve emphasised the "purports" bit !

Yep - I thought that was odd.
It either is, or it isn't.
the talk appears around the 1hr09min mark, and the song is played after that.
i like the instrumental of age of consent.
