I've done it again...... you should actually read this

One of the few things I didn't do myself on this website are the menus, simply because I don't want to install 4 browsers and test everything in them...

Probably lazy, but when 90% of the people uses one, you are pushed to do something that works with this one first.

So this little introduction is to tell you that I have changed the menu system to a bigger, faster, better system, which should be working with most browsers correctly.

In fact, I tested it with IE 5.5, IE 6, Netscape 4.78 and 6.1, and Opera 5.1, but all on PC, and it DOES work. I want confirmation that it still works like a charm for most of you!

P/S: If you didn't notice, this system will leave the menu permanent on top when you're scrolling.. it was like that, a long long time ago :D

The answer is: NO.

First of all, the message WAS directed to only one person, and yet, I knew perfectly that the other french-speaking people on the board would understand it -- I didn't mind because it was of no importance at all. Therefore, IT WAS ON PURPOSE that I wrote that in french. Okay, let's be practical: the answer to that question is, of course, because that is the main language the majoriy of people here understands. Why is that? Because the United Kingdom and United States are the two countries in which New Order got their biggest fan base, and that Canada has a lot of them as well, and all three countries have ENGLISH as their first language.

But that is not a reason to speak english EXCLUSIVELY. And I certainly do not want the people on this board to restrict themselves to that. This is why a few people on this board have written messages in german, and some others in spanish. This is why we were happy to put news and articles that were only in german, spanish and even portuguese. And, guess what, this is also the reason why we once put a news entirely in SWEDISH !

I can understand your frustration when you can't read a message because it's in a foreign language, but that's how the world is made, and this is why so many people are learning other languages, like you did, to communicate outside their small world. NewOrderOnline has an international vocation, and I hope it won't change.

The language question (especially ENGLISH VS FRENCH) is a very touchy one where I live.

You know, it's a miracle that we, french-speaking Quebecers, haven't been assimilated yet and believe me, the only reason why it didn't happen is because we refused to let that happen, because many tentatives were made, once by the British invader, and after by the rest of Canada and even by the United States (culturally speaking, even though they DID invade Quebec in a military way three centuries ago).

When you're part of a 6 million french-speaking minority in a 300 million english-speaking persons ocean, especially when you have borders with the most powerful country in the world, who dictates many of the products you buy, the music you listen to and the movies you see, you get very touchy when someone is telling you "you should speak english, not french" if you wish to preserve your culture and your identity.

I didn't mean to be agressive to Maria though, but I had to explain the context.

No, well I don't think so but then again I couldn't read it so I wouldn't know, but I think it was just an article on the career of New Order and the release of Get Ready. It's still in the news, somewhere, and if it's not in the latest news section, it is certainly in the NEWS ARCHIVES of July.
