I like how they interpret:

“We should stop the feud before one of us dies... It just needs one of them to pick up the phone, or have their lawyer say, ‘Let’s have a meeting’”

to mean:

... he says it’s time to get the original line-up back together… before it’s too late.

The fact that there’s no quotes around that second part makes me think that he never said those words or suggested getting the band back together.

He’s literally just saying that he wants the band to contact him and they can then smooth things over. That might imply he wants back in, but on face value, he either just wants an apology or wants things to be more cordial between the two parties.

I think Hooky probably realises his bridges are burnt. This article is just trying to get a rise out of the band, hoping that they turn around and say ‘never in a month of Sundays’.

I’m firmly on the band’s side in the argument (although I agree that Hooky has some valid points) but, to me, this article appears to be a bit of a ‘stitch up’.
