i guess i could have added Hooky too...
songwriting, voice, personality... an unfair question i must admit
do you mean who do we choose in terms of vocals?
BARNEY ALL THE WAY!![]()
i love barney's vocals...it's so soothing sometimes. ian is ok, i'm not a big fan of his vocals...it's barney's guitar playing and steve's drumming that made me a JD fan, more than the ian's angsty vocals.
NO VOTE!
I like Ian's almost poetic and truly sad lyrics, but i also like Barneys sarcasm and cynism.
Too different too make a choice!

I don't understand the reference to the Polish... how are they in involved? What is wrong with the Poles? next you will be slagging off on the Czechs.

i don't know he accepts write-in votes, so take a post-it note, write her name on it with a total of (1) vote, and stick onto your monitor when you are this page.
I can't choose! Both bring (brought) something different to the table, so it's hard to compare......

What exactly do you mean by that Marco?
When I first saw this question I had to think to myself, "Nooo, don't make me choose!" It's really difficult to choose because they are so different. I like Ian's lyrics better but Barney's vocals better. I don't know, I think I lean (to the inside) towards Barney more. He's really improved after 20 years taking over lead vocals from being just a guitar player. ![]()
It has to be Ian, theres just such an auroua around him....like his more than a mere human being. Ok, he was a pretty nasty person from what ive read about him...but his music, lyrics and decision to take the imortality of an early grave but him above and beyond the touch of any other muscians. Nothing against Barney, thats just how i feel.

I simply cannot vote in this poll!
Ian Curtis' lyrics, jerky intense dancing & amazing voice! The there's Bernard's incredible voice, amazing lyrics & the way he took on the role of becoming lead singer when Ian Curtis died was very honourable & he (including the rest of the band) succeeded immensley!
How can anyone possibly vote in this!!!! (Still, a very interesting poll)

I 'learned' to like Ians singing , that was simply not the case with Bernard as i got sucked in by his vocals from the outset of hearing them.
And there you have my answer :)
