Hi everyone

My book based on my NewOrderTracks blog (and earlier discographic life) is officially published today, through SonicBond Publishing for their On Track series. Just in time for the Low-life box set [;)]

Book cover

This one's for all the fans... it's about the music.

Available everywhere (physical copies are being distributed), and the publisher's online store is here. Press release is downloadable here.

Happy New Year everyone.

Fab news, Dennis. Congrats. Have been holding off ordering one to see if I can get a signed copy, as per earlier posts. Will drop you a PM.

Really looking forward to reading it. Your blog was a real high point of my internet surfing back in the day. Will be great to have it in print.

Had a notification from Amazon UK that my copy had finally dispatched yesterday and would be here tomorrow at a price about 15% cheaper than when I ordered way back when.

It has just arrived, a full day "early" - I'm off for a read. Cheers, Dennis.

Loving the book, Dennis, but wanted to congratulate Mr Reeder on his amusing and unconventional use of the "...Neworder rose like a phoenix from the ashes" trope! 👏

I received an email from Amazon: "We're sorry to inform you that the release date for the item below has changed. The new delivery date is indicated below. We apologize for the inconvenience." The box below states "We will email you as soon as we have a delivery date".

Hopefully just a small hiccup.

I heard there were issues posting from the UK due to some Royal Mail hack/cyber incident, and a subsequent backlog? Hopefully will be sorted out soon.

My copy has arrived! Direct from Mr Remmer himself.

Looks great!

Haven't had chance for a deep-dive yet, but it looks absolutely jam-packed with New Ordery goodness.

As well as the track-by-track write-ups, there are also some lovely colour pictures of sleeves and some rather splendid live photos, also in colour. My good friend, Glenn Bennett, has contributed some of the photos and he has a real eye for capturing the essence of the band. The other photos are great too. Plus, there are a number of black and white live photos included as well.

Additionally, there is a 'core release' discography, a list of track versions and, best of all, a comprehensive timeline. As someone who can't get enough of New Order facts, I imagine I will spend a lonnnng time pouring over this data.

The layout is good. Nice spacing. Easy to read. If Dennis manages to get it on the Apple Books store, I will probably buy a digital copy too. Just to save damaging my copy.

Much like the original blog, this book is a real labour of love. A must-purchase, guys. Go and order one now. You won't regret it.

Congrats to Dennis and to his contributors. A superb effort!

Hopefully the delays in delivery are sorted and you've all received your books now.

Of course, I'm interested in your feedback (good, bad, ugly) and would welcome any mentions on social media, ratings on Amazon etc.

Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago. Loved it very much. It kinda works well that the first few albums are pretty much consistent adoration, and then after that you have to dish out some pretty brutal (no pun intended) objectivity. And fair play for trying to keep on top of the remix avalanche that has dogged the catalog in recent times. That's pretty useful as I lose track of which remixes are actually the good ones!

Bravo

The latest from Amazon: "Hello, We're encountering a delay in shipping your order. We'll send a confirmation as soon as it ships and communicate the expected delivery date. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Details Order #112-6474694-4239467 Placed on Monday, January 16, 2023"

I was really hoping to get through this before New Order, you know, release a bunch of new material.

Oh well, I have a few other things I need to finish anyway.

My copy arrived yesterday.

Have had a quick read of a few selected favourite songs - but am going to hold off reading properly until I have some time off to do it the justice of listening along whilst reading. I've already set the playlist up in book order in preparation...

Many thanks and congratulations Dennis.

That's very kind Sung - thank you! So glad you're enjoying it as intended (with the music playing). Many levels of detail [read]

We certainly intended it to land at the same time as the Low-life box (which themselves have not arrived in Oz yet - so I feel your New Order pain).

Had to send a second copy to Mark Reeder from my own promo stash, as the first ended up in the wrong city to the wrong address. Sly New Order fan in German customs I reckon.

Global shipping, eh? Hopefully the publisher's container to the US isn't at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle LOL. Please keep me informed, and I promise the wait is worth it!

Yesterday Amazon updated the delivery date to Monday.

It was on my porch when I arrived home Saturday evening. Wacky.

i got my book a few days ago.

have been enjoying it thoroughly. very detailed and descriptive.

it's the best up to date reference on them so far. i haven't gotten through it all yet, but well worth it.

now, i want someone, or at least combine all the artwork released from previous books, to make up a visual discography.

thanks dennis for all the hard work, and congratulations on an excellent job.
