Brilliant thanks, good read - fairly confident we'll get new music at some point which will be amazing! Not sure when though, might get a better idea if they play new stuff in March! Fingers crossed.

Listened this morning. Stephen did talk more about another book he is writing or maybe writing. Difficult to tell though if he was joking or serious about what the book will be about.

Not a great interview but then i'm not the biggest fan of Colin Murray.

Ah so the interview is here starting at 2hrs,3mins.

Had a bit of a skip through. Re the Hooky split, at 2hrs49 Stephen says "Stranger things have happened at sea...it is sad...I can't really see a way back at the minute". At 2hrs50 "I had the artistic pretension that i might be a novelist but that didn't work out...this one's got to be about things you can do when you get old in a band....it's quite short, it's a pamphlet!"

I seem to remember Hooky talking about writing a fiction novel. But he hasn't done it (unless you count his NO book and interviews).

Although I enjoyed the interview, I have to agree that it's kind of incredible that there's an hour long interview and no question about new material. You have to wonder whether there was a stipulation before the interview that there'd be no questions regarding that particular topic. Either that or Murray had a bit of a mare and forgot to ask the question.

Surely the most important thing you ask in an interview of this sort is 'what are your plans?'.

The 'book thing' came up by accident too, didn't it? It wasn't that Murray asked him specifically about his new book; he joked about need to read a 'manual' and Steve said he was writing one. Unless I'm mistaken, it also felt that Murray was only aware of Steve's JD book, not his NO one.

The whole thing seemed scant on details for something that was an hour long. For someone who introduced the interview by saying that he always wanted to do an in depth interview with a member of JD, he didn't seem to go into it very well prepared.
