Ah see, it is Animal Farm, not 1984. Even members of the band have got this one wrong in recent years, but herein iies an image of the back cover of Animal Farm.

Yes it's 40 years since PCL's release and it's also 30 years since Republic's release.

Realised the other it was 30 years since Republic , completely forgetting it also 40 since PCL.

Murder was left off not just because of the space limitations of vinyl but also because it was vaguely similar in mood to say, Ultraviolence i think? I did create a folder once of the album that included Murder, in between Ultraviolence and Ecstacy.

Oh , Hooky took the title from the blurb on the back cover of Animal Farm? Not sure i knew that. Or i did know it but had long forgotten.

Yeah - I think that fact was new to me. Or, like you, had forgotten it. Maybe Hook mentions it in his book. I'm pretty sure I hadn't seen that image before though.

As regards Murder, I bloody love the track, but think it works better as a stand-alone piece. Saying that, maybe I'd think the same about Ecstasy if that track was a single and Murder was on the LP. Both brilliant instrumentals (well, 'sort of' instrumentals).
