Hi all - I've purposefully never been on FaceBook except through my label.

Wanted to post to one called "Joy Division, New Order, Electronic etc." which appears to have the most members, but every time my post goes into pending status with no resolution. WTF?

Have I entered a murky world of moderation and admin-deference? [nono]

I only found one of that name and it's private with 250ish members. Is that the one?

The other NO/JD related groups tend to be very much a repetition of "favourite track", "what does X lyric mean" etc.... (Similar reddit groups even more so)

The one that I consider the "orginal" FB group is this one called New Order with the BM'88 banner. It has a start date of 2006. Members I've spotted in there include Hooky (though he seems to be a member only when he has gig news to post, the rest of the time... he isn't), Spotnick (yes I've Spotted Nic there more recently than here!), Steve Smith (a Mod I think) and a number of other (ex?) members of this forum. It's a "Private" group, so you have to wait to be approved the first time you want to jump in.

There's also a "Public" NO page/group called New Order (-confusion!): here. In my experience, If you decide to post there, you have to wait a day or two before your post will be approved. I consider this the less knowledgable of the two pages/groups called "New Order".

Haing said that, Prog99's comments of ".... very much a repetition of "favourite track", "what does X lyric mean" etc.... " are broadly true for all the groups/pages. And I've seen some of our former forum members on there saying they've had enough. Maybe they should come back here!

Same. I actually posted the thread the other day about the GMEX photo on the Brotherhood DVD sleeve, seemingly from the same film roll as the inner gatefold of The Smiths' Rank. Very cool to hear from one of the now middle-aged stars of the photo himself 😎
