True Faith also. Closely followed by TPK.
I would not worry too much about HTS and 60mph videos (although I find them quite funny)

Round&Round for its beautiful female models ;)
Though i've always liked FineTime because of its christmas type feel to it, this time of year it tends to get quite a bit of rotation on VH1 classics and such like.
I had a hard time chosing between True Faith and World..
True Faith 94 should NOT be nominated as it is a montage of all videos together..
So I picked World.. why? very artistic and a very difficult video to shoot... and you manage to find what is the price of love at the end!
There is only 3 takes in the whole video, VERY nice camera job.. to synchronize everything must have been hard, no wonder the band are only doing cameos in it, except Barney, but then again, he's at the end of the first take and the beginning of the 2nd, so he didn't do too hard.
OMFG, are there really videos for ALL of these songs?
I've only seen or downloaded about 5 of those ![]()
"True Faith" because it's an alltime-classic. I also like the "Run 2" video as well as the weird "1963". From the newer ones i really like the absurd "60 mph". ![]()
that little smile on Barney's face during his close -up on TPK seals the deal for me...i love that video...the Joy Division poster in the back...the mysterious figure in the doorway (ian's ghost or just the guy dropping off the dope?)...plus a special live performance from the band...what can be better than that? Followed closely by Confusion...i love seeing them get out of the limo and Arthur Baker carrying that huge reel to the DJ booth....
I just watched the "Confusion" vid again (3rd time in a week, thank you), and they get out of a taxi near the end (Celebrities like New Order should've had a limo! ![]()
Good thing the guy searching Barney before he entered the club didn't find his stash ![]()
you're right...much better in a taxi...i love those shorts! Gillian is the only one not frisked...

in the perfect kiss video , if the one figure behind hooky is ians ghost who is the big fat spirit behind bernard?
I always liked Confusion because it was so representative of early videos in the pre-Thriller days of MTV: "Already, you're walking down the stairs...good! now get in the taxi....super, super...Barney, could you cheer up just a little? Oh, fine........" Fuckin' brilliant, that one is.

Closer than you think: http://www.neworderonline.com/video.asp. As Nicolas always says, you should check the rest of the site and blah blah blah. ;)
Oh, and I voted for "Touched By The Hand Of God", always hilarious watching it. "The Perfect Kiss" is my second favorite.
I agree about world... it's amazing how they got everythign to flow together so smoothly. However, my favorite is The Perfect Kiss because Gillian. Love that make up job!!!!
run 2 video is excellent....still cant work out where the live footage is from....any ideas??
TPK cause Demme directed it, Henri Alekan was director of photography, it was a nice shock to flip through MTV back then and actually see the video at a decent hour, the JD poster, and it's a treat to watch the whole extended video.
Speaking of TPK video though, does anybody else have the poster for the video, which is mostly in grey and white with some red in it, and it features an enigmatic shot of Gillian's clasped hands?
TBTHOG is one of the funniest videos ever. it's perfect for the late '80s. barney in spandex! ROCK ON! ![]()
i agree TBTHOG is probably the funniest video i've ever seen! It gets my vote; although, TPK is way cool.
TPK is one of the dullest videos I've ever seen! Why would anyone watch it more than once, i ask you!
Where are the little shots of the car chase, guy running down the road ,in the TOUCHED BY THE HAND OF GOD clip from?
I always loved "Confusion", for its illuminating New York atmosphere of the early 80's. And because it was shown like in life with the band participating. But here I choose "Spooky" for its artistic weirdness. Besides I have never seen "Nineteen63" and "Run 2".
By the way, what is the Blue Monday 83 video? It's not the Top of the Pops performance, right? Thus, is it a real music video? Can anyone describe it, for I've never heard of it before.
True Faith for sure! That video is pure art. I remember Hooky on the Canadian Much Music saying they wanted to go on vacation so they just told the director to make a dance video, and that is what they got. Hooky was very proud his foot made the video.
Round & round is the next best. I want to see the Patti version some day.
World is cool, Spoooky is great. Regret is a feel good video. And Crystal is just crap. Perfect Kiss is boring to me, I dont see what the big deal is.
And the clips from TBTHOG are from the B movie "Salvation"!
I think I might be biased towards Crystal just because of having seen the others too often. But I thought it was nice that it obliquely acknowledged they're getting on a bit.

Is this the one with all the random graphics and people marching and stuff?
The dog-clip is BM88, and the random-figures clip is BM95, as far as I know.

I've never seen an 83 video of BM... however, our NOOLer -1 has put on his site a MP3 of the "Video Version" of Blue Monday for download. It is an edit with a fading end.

But, once again, never seen or heard the video. I also don't think it even exists, or it would be on Substance or Best of videos. Peolple must be talking about the TOTP appearance.
The video for Blue Monday was made in the Spring of 1983 by Malcolm Whitehead and Stephen Morris. It can be seen on the 1985 compilation Factory Shorts.
I agree with everything said here about TPK. I love how you get to see them performing it live. It's such a good version too, unlike that live clip of "Blue Monday" which was a little anemic.
Another vote fer Touched, I agree with the others who said it was funny as fuck, anything that rips the piss out of them horrible "Soft Rock" yanks is good enough fer the Shugster, having said that, True Faith isnae far behind.....and while I'm at it, I've always loved the Run video an all.
Biggest laugh I had on this thread was 1963 being listed as a potential best video clip
It's nearly as bad as Fine Time!
