BLT - original album version. Though Technique was a great album, there weren't any real standout massive tracks on there IMHO. The singles they did release from Technique were more out of this compelling need to release singles, rather than because they were outstanding tracks.

Sorry BCE but Round & Round was a classic single. I voted Regret as my all time fave in the poll so I can't really answer the main question.

Which wasn't released as a single. Sure we've all got favourites off Technique, I have mine, but they wouldn't score heavily in the "all-time classic" stakes. Just look at the Ultimate Poll for proof..... Vanishing Point has 5 votes of 184 cast, and Dream Attack also has 5. The original question in this thread was which song was the most recent classic before Regret - people seem to be voting for True Faith and BLT.

True Faith was really THE standout single up until Regret, imho. That probably opened several doors for them (which they proceeded to slam), and it really was the best thing they had done until Regret.

Admittedly BLT (album only) walks all over anything from 86 to 94 but I don't think we can simply dismiss this period offhand.
Best song since World In Motion, IMO, which would probably be acclaimed as a classic if everyone didn't have such a hang-up about (a) England, and (b) football. A perfect pop song. With balls.
And before that Mr Disco, R&R, Vanishing Point, Run, Fine Time and Dream Attack all deserve honourable mentions though I just can't pick a standout from that period.
ooh...i'd have to say round & round. my favourite off technique and a fantastic song all around.
