many of us didn´t like such a good thing. I didn´t like it because it sounds like a song for a football pc/playstation/nintendo game such as the FIFA games. I wouldn´t be surprised if on the next version (FIFA2003) such a good thing becomes the main song of the game. it would have a reason lo live. if not then I don´t understand why barney is so ancious for editing it on the retro box set. for me may be the worst NO song ever.
such a good thing - such a bad song

It was written to act as theme music for Radio 5's World Cup coverage, but I never heard it used.
I 'appen to like it, but agree that it maybe doesn't belong on the bonus disc. Useful for those didn't bother with the WIM re-release I suppose.

it was never used in full on radio 5...but chunks of the song were used quite frequently during coverage...
Well, this song wasn't supposed to see the light of day until a brillant
mind somewhere decided to re-release World In Motion, with the same exact thing that was on the still available everywhere 1990 release..
So this is the bone they have thrown at us.. fortunatly, I will have it on Retro and I'm happy because I'm trying to have every New Order related song and song version on disc..
Retro will make me save for the WIM2002 CD and the Beach soundtrack, so I'm quite happy, it's paying itself ;)
Disagree entirely. The worst song New Order have ever done? I'm not sayings it's fantastic, but to say it's the worst New Order song ever is to ignore absolutely minging tracks like Liar, Chemical and Times Change. At least it has audible Hooky, no female backing vocals and a discernible chorus.

I like this song too. "Such A Good Thing" is much worse than "Liar". I can't understand why there are so many people bashing it either.
Nice thread title, Alejo. :)
I've never heard the song cos I never bought the reissued World in Motion anyway.
What does it sound like? Is it guitary or is it keyboardy-dancey / sequencer-y ??
Such a good thing is such a good song. Period.
I think this Get Ready era is the best "NO'sB-sides era", see Behind Closed Doors, Sabotage, Player in the league, etc. What do you think?

As I said, I like Slow Jam, and apparently I'm not the only who "Can't get enough of this".. :D
In terms of bad one, you can pick Angel Dust..
I respect every opinion. new order is a band with fans of multiple tastes. some fans like the rock songs more, some the pop tracks, some the electronic stuff, some the instrumental ones, some all of it, some part of it. for ME is a bad song, has no soul at all. I could never listen to it again (I listened to liar at least twice!). to ME it sounds like some parody of new order, is full of cliches. well, didn´t like it, period! :)

believe it or not, i enjoy both Angel Dust and Evil Dust...more so than Slow Jam...i'd rather hear bad synths + sequencers than crap lyrics + cheesy guitar.
