Actually Al, it's the 2nd year of neworderonline.com, but the website in its current format (v2.0) was "released" in July 2001... just in time for the first concerts of the Get Ready tour.

Before that, it was ugly and not dynamic with a forum filled of goat rapers (ah, old memories)... I think Taboo #7 is the only one left from that era...!

We prepared the current site for a very long time and wanted to launch it before Get Ready...!

New Order are the Glasgow Celtic of music, so often they give us so much joy, and so often they take away that joy :lol:

Man, your memory honors you! And I don't know if New Order EVER were avant-gardistes, but they are not now and we couldn't care less!

As for the opening of the website, actually it's been MORE than two years really because the website under the domain name "www.neworderonline.com" has been opened since somewhere in september or october 2002 (see my "Member since: .... " date to make sure). But there were so many site building to do, that we didn't want to run it "officially". It was under beta testing, really. And we had set ourselves some sort of a deadline to launch the site, and that date was December 1st 2000.

At that time, the site was based on pale blue colors mainly and had the following logo:

It was meant to be the continuation of the Temptation website, which Nicolas ran and I was helping. The main difference, as Nic underscored, was that the site wasn't fully programmed as it is now at the time, and the database was empty. Now we have a database filled with data, and a perfect message board interface, with no goat rapers in it.

I would like to thank everyone for their contributions over the months, and their nice comments and wishes in this thread!

By the way, does anyone remember when we almost closed the site for a whole week after the September 11th events? I just bumped into the image montage I did after the events:

finally it´s the day. in my country wishing happy birthday and even celebrating it before its actual date is consider bad luck. so that´s why I didn´t say it before. thanks to all fans that make this possible. specially, of course, the webmasters for making this happen. you should get a medal or something. :idea: even more, the members of NO should fly to canada and shake hands with each one of you. and then, on their knees, thank you in every language spoken on NOOL. after that they should give each one of you an exclusive box set with all new order tracks ever written :music: . and they should sign them too. then they should get the instruments and make an exclusive concert for you and they should play every single song that you ask for.... :guitar: and then all NOOL members should get in the house to enjoy the show and meet the band :jump: and have free drinks courtesy of new order. :beer: what do you think? such a perfect day.... :birthday:
