Yes.. today I received (finally) my promotional copy of the Finsbury Park DVD, courtesey of Noble PR (and I'm annoucing that starting monday, we'll have a competition to give 10 copies away)... and I must say I just had a very pleasant two hours, even if I was very sleepy...!!!
First of all, the DVD is DTS / Dolby Digital 5.1 / Stereo, so your pick, I'm guessing the sound would be amazing in DTS, but I don't have more then Dolby Digital 5.1, and it was nevertheless great.
First exclusivity.. the DVD menu has another new bonus track.. it's not The Happy One, but Vicious Streak instrumental.. would be probably nice to have that in some way.
I first watched the DVD extras, and I'm pretty sure many of you will recognized themselves when you'll see the DVD because there is MANY crowd shots.. so you'll be able to tell us the exact timing (because of the DVD) where you are.. the interview with Barney is short and sweet, the concert excerpts are great, the interviews done by Jonathan Scott are quite shorter than I would have imagined, but in fact, all DVD extras are shorter that what I was expecting..
But the concert is very worth it...
Let's see what happened...
- Barney appoligizing for the rain between each song.
- Barney dancing on BLT and Blue Monday (classic)
- Steve's "I am Oeuf" T-Shirt, I seriously wonder what this it :D
- The band having a lot of fun on stage, especially Hooky folling around all the time.
- John Simms on stage and singing on Digital
- Barney looking at his teleprompter all the time.
- Hooky having problems again with his pads in Blue Monday :D
I must say, after seeing this, it would be a crime if New Order didn't release the full concert in CD, this show was great and it fits on one CD, so why wouldn't they release it on CD?
Well, since this is the only concert I will be seeing of the Get Ready tour, I'm a little pissed they never came in our side of North America, but this DVD is totally worth it..
Hurry up to get your copy, you'll have a very fun time, and if you were there, you will have fun finding yourself.. there is many "duplex" shot of people in the crowd and the band at the same time, and I must say, I'm not sure I recognized someone, but since I don't have a good sense of observation, don't count on me.
The tracklisting is 16 songs, all but World In Motion are on there... Even Brutal sounds good!
I'm very tired, but I managed to stay awake, it was worth it.
And for collectors, don't worry, the promo is a blank DVD with nothing written on it, with a piece of paper written in GERMAN, nothing mentions New Order..
