Alright, this is the inverse of what we have done so far, to eventually find the "worst" New Order song ever..

Basically, don't vote if you don't think any of these songs diserve a vote..

I'm pretty sure the vote will split between Rock The Shack, Slow Jam and Run Wild..

Let's take my vote.. it will be for Run Wild, not because it's a bad song, but because it's not really a typical New Order song, and I feel that Sabotage, Player in the League or Behind Closed Doors would have done better to end this album.

As for Rock The Shack, the BBC Sessions version made me change my mind about that track...

Slow Jam. It's not fit to be listed as written by New Order.

puh...i don't know really...i struggled between Slow Jam and Rock The Shack but i voted for RTS because they use the title of the song in the chorus, which IS untypical. Run Wild is okay, but i prefer that electronic-version circling around.

Untypical?

Ah ok, chorus.. because I was curious.. Crystal, 60 Miles An Hour, Turn My Way, Vicious Streak, Someone Like You.. all of them have the song title in the lyrics..!

No no, i meant CHORUS :singer:

i voted for "rock the shack" only because bernard was trying to be something he's not - a punk rock singer! what were those johnny rotten-esque melodies? eeesh!

"Rock The Shack" is the worst song on "Get Ready", I don't know what newOrder and Prml Scrm were thinking, but the rest of the album is wonderful.

how can you people vote for Rocking the Chicken Shack???

oh...I forgot...not many of us like it...

I, for one, LOVE it...but I got no problem with people hating it...but I do have one question...why am I the only one who always has the right answer???

i just can't see the appeal of rock the shack....

slow jam, however, is probably my favourite song on the album (with crystal and close range following close behind).

interesting divergence of tastes here on this poll.

IMHO, Rock The Shack would be appealing to rock fans, not New Order fans...

It has potential for people who likes songs like "Give it away now" from the Red Hot Chili Peppers..!

i like 'give it away', but 'rock the shack' just doesn't cut the mustard. something about it really turns me off.

ok, you like Give it Away also...now it makes sense...must have burnt your taste buds on the Chili Peppers.

Cool down.

I like Slow Jam and I've even started a website on that band :D

I don't like Primitive Notion as much as you either, but well, it's a good track too :D

I never liked Rock The Shack from the first place, but for some weird reason, I don't mind it anymore, and I'm even pumping up the volume when it plays.. pure energy...

But my initial reaction was "what the f*** is this?", the repetitive "rock the shack" doesn't help, but this song has to be the rockiest song they did in a while.. I'm not a big fan of Bobbie Gilespie's input, hence why I prefer the BBC version.

erm, been a fan longer than you, i see. anyway, who cares! we each have our own opinions, nobody's right or wrong here.

just kidding. you know that. Rock the Shack doesn't get skipped anymore. Sounds delightful when preceded by the BBC session of Close Range in fact.

i've got to continue my crusade against Slow Jam and Run Wild...Shite like this only cheapens New Order.

ok, as long as you were just kidding!

but i'll say it again--I LOVE SLOW JAM! :D :D

as for run wild...i can take it or leave it. probably my second least favourite song on the album after rock the shack.

I vote Run Wild. What Spotnick said about the song was dare I say spot on. Damm shame that a track like Behind Closed Doors was left off.

YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!

Rock The Shack is a wicked tune!!!!!!!! It's good to see NEW ORDER trying something different on the GET READY album & Rock The Shack is a perfect example. NEW ORDER & Bobby Gillespie just let themselves go with this track, & thats why I have a lot of time for it!

       :guitar: :drummer: :singer: :bass:

ROCK THE SHACK! ROCK THE SHACK! ROCK THE SHAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!

I voted for Someone Like You, if only because the remixs are better than the original tune (my cousin worked at a college radio station, and we played the remix to death when they recieved an advance copy on vinyl)

are you sure your CD is not mislabeled? Vicious Streak is the awesome mellow number with GOOD lyrics and Excellent Bass...if your version starts with "As I look at the morning sky etc..." that's Slow Jam...clear cookies and vote again!

Rock the Shack gets a thumbs up from me. Even though it's not really a New Orderish sounding song, it's funny to hear them try to "rock". Plus, I've been a fan of Primal Scream for awhile, so that adds to it.

I think that Rock the Shack and Run Wild are inspired by some of New Order's longtime influences, but are pretty flawed by awful lyrics. Barney sounds too wimpy to rock out like a Stooges garage band, just sort of sounds inane, but the band holds up and at least sounds competent... but Run Wild is just totally embarrassing until the last ten seconds, which is about the only honest moment on the record. What should sound like a more minimal showcase has Barney hiding behind awful lyrics and needless bad female vocals, and goes on way too long... but also Someone Like You has possibly the worst chorus in New Order history... and Slow Jam sounds like an over long joke without a punchline, where is the editing?

and they say Barney loves Such a Good Thing...?

i dunno, NO needs a producer who knows how to feed the right amount of drugs to Barney and keep the music going in the right direction.

The BBC version of Rock The Shack is absolutely brilliant....massive thumbs up from me...unfortunatly Slow Jam gets a fair bit of skipping from me......nothing personal....

Rock The Shack is the worst song on GR. At first I thought it was OK, but now I always skip it.
