He also revealed to that he had wanted to produce New Order in their '80's heyday - but that the band weren't keen. "I would have loved to have worked with them," he said, "because I loved them. And [label boss] Tony Wilson desperately wanted me to do it. But their credibility would have gone out the window if they'd done that and at the end of the day I've never worried about that. But all rock bands are worried about their credibility more than they're worried about anything else. I wouldn't want to work with them now because the time has."
Guess who this is about....

I heard this quote at the time... but can't remember who said it. If my memory serves me correctly, I'd peg that quote on 1987 or 1988... also, whoever said it, I remember thinking at the time... christ NO, don't work with them... they're crap.
But did you know Brian Eno was to work with NO around the Technique period. He declined eventually because the band used too much drugs in his opinion.
Me and me bird sat through the recent Waco-Jako video last night. Was the best 4 minutes of my life (except when I tackled 3 loop-dogs to the floor during an attack on an older bitch). For anyone that hasn't seen it - imagine the 'Bad' video where our half-human/half-alien white-boy black dood homey type character pits his wits against Wesley Snipes in a mock dance fight scene like a bad episode of Fame.
Jackson is sporting an ill-fitting suit that looks like he's painted it on, and of course, a top hat that wouldn't look out of place on top of a frog. He moves and grooves around what looks like the interior of Burger King of a weekend, challenging some no-marks to a dance/fight duel. Obviously the martian succeeds... and lives to dance around another shop in the arcade another day.
I might write into Nevermind Land and suggest that in the next video he could evolve into a werewolf after his dinner and chase several bitches around the woods until his shoe gets loose.... oh, no he's done that one.
Does anyone know how Waco manages to keep his nose on during flight?
I watched that video too, Huntsy (with the sound off and GR in the headphones). There's actually a longer version that's more like ten or fifteen minutes. We all know he's had his nose replaced many times, but I hadn't realized before that he also seems to have had his mouth and cheeks replaced as well, substituting some kind of hard plastic.
My bird is fascinated by Waco and has followed his slow degeneration over the past couple of decades with fondness and disbelief. Our current opinion is that Jackson has replaced his entire head with a pumpkin that had been strategically placed in front of the window of his mansion for several years. The washed-out vegetable was grafted onto the back of Jacko, then during the mid-nineties, it was decided to manouvere it onto the top of his neck, replacing his mutated head in-place of the turnip on his back when no-one was looking. Didn't you ever wonder why he sported a cloak during the 90's?... it was to disguise his pumpkin. His head is still growing on his back, but only a few choice members of the animal kingdom are allowed to see him and talk to his old face.
Evidently he can only speak a few words and usually constricts his conversation to basic subject matter such as the price of basic foodstuffs such as eggs and bread.
So Pat the face in the video is actually a washed out vegetable, with slots inserted where his usual eyes and nose would appear. Quite who made the decision to paint his mouth red is anyone's guess... it was this hasty decision that gave the game away... for us anyway.
That's a fascinating theory, Huntsy, but don't you think it's just a tiny bit implausible or say far-fetched? We are after all talking about somebody who at some point in his life bore some resemblance to a human being. I didn't think that medicine had advanced to the point of achieving this kind of transformation.
mmmm... my bird does have a vivid imagination like. She had me fooled once that an owl was sat in my pie on the dinner table whilst I was upstairs washing my hands for tea. How embarrassed was I when I came down and found that it wasn't an owl, but a moth!
I'll put your comments to her tonight... she's not going to like it.
I switched 'our' opinion to 'her' opini-onion when it became a possibility that Waco 'may' not have had a washed-out pumpkin for a head and/or his own face growing off his back.
I just wished it was true P... that's all. There's no shame in it, I'm not harming anyone... only myself.
I am the boy from A.I. who wants to be real, but instead I am a Huntsman... a sub-human being with only a simple potato for a brain. Don't kill me, I am real... or maybe I'm just made of carbohydrates.
Who am I kidding?
Will facsy's Barn(owl)yard impression become the new Theakston?(most popular nose job in U.K. incase your an alien in the U.K. that is).
Ian, if what you have just said implies that I am an alien then the answer would have to be a resounding yes. If, however, you require directions to the local cat house to obtain sexual pleasures, turn left at the lights and follow your snout.
If I turn left from here I'd have to pass a school full of girls which may be a tad confusing and there is the legality issue of offering them money for sexual favours.
- Pat... Yes, I did. I was pleasantly surprised. The bit where the aliens appeared piloting what looked like a cuboid bird house with moveable planks of wood on the side was a real turn-up for the books. I have had extensive discussions with me mates about the film and the ideals behind it... I find I'm more in favour of the film than anyone, even me bird... who dragged me there in the first place.
I would purchase one of them there talking super-bears if they were available in the UK.
Well, I haven't seen it Huntsy, but I certainly plan to when it comes on cable, although I think Jude Law is massively overrated.
Simmering Ian, the various cat houses that I frequent offer a school girl service. For a couple of 'bob extra, the mature ladies will dress up like young schoolies wearing grey skirts and white socks and sporting blazers. One time a few friends of mine hired a lady out for the night and asked her to dress her up as a robot... when she did, they took turns poking her giblets until she fell into the river.
Patty, Jude Law IS overrated, however, in this film he is actually quite good. Problem is, the role he plays is pappa. So you've got Jude Law-breaker, who is normally poo, acting well, in an average film, playing a rubbish character. So, erm, for him to shine out must mean he's acting well, or something. I saw Existenz the other night and thought he was shat-box in that... however I did like the film. I spent 2 hours moaning about his crap American accent until the end scene - where it was revealed that it was meant to be a crap accent.
Oh well, you can't win them all.
Watch out for A.I. coming through your various cables Pastie... I'm sure we'll get it in the UK for Betamax rental in about 2007.

What would it set me back to replicate said events perhaps with a replicant to keep the costs down.

Talking super bears? where?
