I'm not sure how to do links, so just highlight the text and press ctrl + c, then copy it into the address bar with ctrl + v. Works for me... If anyone knows how to do links, feel free to put one up.

Thanks for that. BTW, did everyone have trouble with that gold sleeve marking badly? I'd love to see a cling-filmed copy. PS, how do I lose this huge avatar? I've tried uploading a smaller one, honest! Help me webmaster!

These versions are much better than the previous versions that I've come across on the Internet. Thank you very much, you're doing all of New Order fandom a huge favor with your efforts!

All of your thanks is welcomed and appreciated. I would have put up some more tracks, but I'm limited to 10MB on my webspace. I'll make sure to make another poll at the end of this month.

If any one has any essential songs to contribute, you can email them to me at lowlife81@earthlink.net and I'll add them to the poll. Right now I'm trying to hunt down good MP3s of "Rocking Carol" and "Ode to Joy". Those would be nice to put up for Christmas.

Instrumentals would be groovy too.

How about the original vocal demo of "Let's Go" (mid 80's), that would be a good one :thumb:

I've been searching for that track for awhile. I almost had it the other night, but the guy I was waiting to download it from went offline.

Isn't that version on the "1963" box set? I noticed that the tracks is a few seconds shorter than the "best of" version and it doesn't have "nothing for me" in the title. I remember seeing the "1963" box a year ago at a record shop, but I didn't know if it was worth getting. Now, of course, the record store closed down, so there goes that.

THANKS VERY MUCH!!! As a novice collector of NO, and having been into the band only about 2 yrs, I would love to be able to assemble the kind of collection that most of the older NOOLs always talk about on here. I would like to request that some of the NOOLs who have these vast collections do this type of thing more often and make songs available for everyone to download. Maybe even a different section on the site apart from the Audio Archives. Took me about 10 seconds at work to download these. Thanks much man!!! :rolling:

Many thanks - the 7" of Ceremony particularly is a joy to hear.

Thanks low-life. Your version of Temptation was vastly superiour to the one I had. Cheers mate!!

Good one, low-life. Haven't heard the 7" Temptation since I gave mine away in 1986. Don't suppose you've got the Western Works demo from Sept 1980? Has my favourite 'lost' NO track on it (Homage). I've got it on an old 7" boot, but it's a bit scratchy.

I've hunted for the origins of this song for quite a while. The best I've heard is that it was a demo from the Lowlife sessions and has never been officially released. Maybe that's why the Mp3 version I have is so poor (unless some kind NO fan out there can do better, hint hint).

1963 box set? I assume this was for the remixed single release back from 1995, right?

I found that track on WinMX a few nights ago, but as I was downloading it I decided to sample it. It was unlistenable. The song just sounded like muffled bass and static. I had other downloads going, so I ended up not getting it. I'll keep an eye out for it though...

Yeah, there's a song on that white 1963-95 boxed single that's simply titled Let's Go. Is it any different than what's on the Salvation soundtrack or US version of The Best Of?

Hang on a minute... Listening to this, there must be 2 mixes of the 7" (and no, I don't mean this mp3 and the 12" Ceremony from Substance...). A previous one I've downloaded this song in the past, and the guitar's cranked up loads (especially towards the end, a real mesh of Hannett-created noise. Beautiful noise, mind.) What's the deal? Is one the original version released on 7" and the other the one that was mispressed and released as a 12"?

I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing it's the same as the US Best Of. I thought the one off of Salvation was always called "Let's Go (instrumental)", or is that just what us New Order fans refer to it as?

Hey Low-Life, I tried emailing you last night but my message got bounced back to me. Are you still at lowlife81@worldnet.att.net or is that e-mail out-of-date?

Let's Go on the Nineteen63 is a re-recorder 1995 version, the US Best-of contains a different "mix" of the song, and is labeled Let's Go (Nothing For Me) (actually, the only difference is that the UK version fades out at the end)

Let's Go (original) from Salvation, is instrumental.

There is a demo version with lyrics that was done a long time ago, it is localed on the New Order Anthologies and is probably widely available since the Napster-era began.

BTW, all this info is in the discography of this site, I spent so many time building it, check it out sometimes

BTW, though I must have the 7" Ceremony, I think it's the first time I care and have listened to it closely.. a little different isn't it?

Anyone ever tried to "merge" Temptation 7" and 12" together as it is rumoured it would create the "full" Temptation?

I tried to, but because the 7" comes from vinyl and the 12" comes from CD, the sound quality is very different, and the pitch as well, so the final result is rather disapointing.

Thankyoo thankyoo thankyoo thankyoo (as that rather annoying tit Moby seems to say after every other track at his live gigs).

Despite maintaining that these are the finest two tracks EVER recorded, I must confess to not having listened to either version since, ooh, must've been the Eighties? Lazy bugger that I am, I'll just stick on Substance instead. The fact that I've not owned a deck in 10+ years doesn't help either.

These two certainly blew the cobwebs off a rather fuzzy hangovered mind this morning (Paula, bless her, had burned 'em onto CDR for me yesterday).

Once again, I thank you. Made my day.

Now, if someone could host the Temptation 12"?

The original link is blocked from my work, but I should imagine he's just removed the afore-mentioned mp3's, as it's now seven months since they were initially uploaded.

Not really sure why someone's resurrected this one?

I downloaded the version of Sub-Culture, i love this version, even though it's one of my least favourite NO songs. Thank you Richard. I also love the picture of Marilyn Manson and the young girl with the big gun. Thanx again.

You're not doing anything wrong. The MP3's have gone, that's all.

The only mp3 up there at the moment is "Sub-Culture". If you click on the parent directory there are some photos, that's about it. I'm presuming Richard will put other mp3's up when he can (hopefully).

I hadn't listened to the 7" of Ceremony since my record player was relegated to the attic 5 years ago. It just reminded me of how the song was meant to be played, it's much closer to the version on Still than the 12" version. Cheers.

Agreed. Comes in like a light aircraft crashlanding in your living room (which is, I believe, what the NME said of the Perfect Kiss in their T&C review once, but, well, you get the picture!).

Stamps all over the more anaemic 12" version, IMhO.

Which version of Subculture is this, I haven't heard it before - it says Subculture (Exclusive remix), is it the legendary Record Mirror one?

Haha, I'm shocked that this board came up again. My old account name was "Low-Life", and I took down those MP3s quite awhile ago. If anyone still wants the 7 Inch versions of "Ceremony" and "Temptation", I can put them back up again.

As for why "Subculture" is there, I did poll awhile back for which song I should put on my site for people to download, so that took place of "Ceremony" and "Temptation".

Also, if anyone is willing to make an MP3 out of the Peter Saville Soundtrack, please do so. I had some credit problems, so I wasn't able to import a copy. Now that they are on eBay, they're being sold for twice the ammount they are worth.

Yes, welcome back, but which version is it?

Originally posted by Martin Fenner Yes, welcome back, but which version is it?

I ripped it from a CD bootleg called "Out of Order" and it's listed as "Exclusive Mix" on the track listing. I'm 99% certain it's the Mirror Record remix.

This is taken from the New Order Discography site: 7": UK 1986 (Record Mirror RMEP2) New Order tracks include: 7:10 Sub-culture (exclusive remix) **

Yeah, it'd be great if you could put the 7" Ceremony and Temptation up, they can be the first downloads on my badass new PC...
