When I was a very young boy (...) Santa
bought me a turntable, but no record to play on it (the bastard). I chose one in my parents' collection and it turned out to be YMCA by the Village People :\ohwell:. Then, I fell in love with some fucking break dance song (I don't remember the title nor the band who sang it)
; it must have been some kind of a reaction against my father's tastes (the Rolling Stones). During the next years I kept going on in the direction of a clash with my dad
, as I started listening to electronic instrumental music (Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, a little Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk too)
; I was about 12 at that time.
I really discovered pop music with A-ha's first two albums
. Later, my tastes evolved in the right direction: first Duran Duran, then the Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, New Order, Joy Division...
Now, I like a huge amount of different styles: John Lee Hooker
, dEUS, Hooverphonic, Jean-Louis Murat, Kat Onoma, Jay Jay Johanson, Garbage, Pulp, Rolling Stones (Dad was fucking right about them :p), U2, David Bowie, ...
