Aha, I'm joking of course .. :D

Well this is my first post on the illustrious NOOL message board. A site I swore I'd never join because of wee tiffs I'd previously had with webmaster Sebastian. But I'm not one to let a little accusation of posting hate mail on this board get me down, and of couse me and Seb worked through things with the help of a counsellor :P

Anyways, everyone here seems very passionate about New Order as I am, and I look forward to many a heated debate (hehe) with you all. Some of you may or may not remember me as the former webmaster of Ally's Monaco Site from '97 to '98. Then I did the official site for their second album which was guff but nevermind! :) I'm also on the Ceremony mailing-list.

Cheers!

Ally.

welcome Ally. I've got an extra 12" of Pineapple Face that should serve as a Revenge "Best Of" if you're interested.

Well, it's the first time someone call me a counsellor, but welcome aboard...

Now where's Happy Jack? the only missing one...!

Hey hey, thanks for the offer of the Pineapple Face 12" but I've already got most of the CD singles (UK, US, US Promo, Aussie) I think Pottsy is maybe coming out with a "Best of Revenge" (oxymoron if ever I heard one :D) I have the tracklisting somewhere, I compiled it myself but Pottsy said he had more rarities to add ie. "The Trouble With Girls" from Fac350c. That would be very nice to have on CD quality.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome ..

Ally.

Happy Jack posted here a couple of weeks back, after I raised a similar question with Antoine.

Happy Jack posted here a couple of weeks back, after I raised a similar question with Antoine.

He also participated in the jacket competition... so he's still around, I just noticed that yesterday.

There isn't even enough good material to do a combined boxset of all the side projects together - maybe an EP... maybe

Hehe.. I was *only* joking about the Revenge box-set! :D Revenge have only done about five decent songs in my book, and that's pushing it. Obviously Hooky thinks the same otherwise he wouldn't have folded the band and started Monaco.

Electronic is the best side project all round, Monaco following closely behind (can anyone really fault M4P??) :D I've been more impressed by many side-project tracks compared with certain Get Ready tracks i.e. Rock The Shack, Close Range (which is good, but weak and unmemorable)

We've probably seen the end of the side-projects anyway as the band gets older. They're not silly, they've realised New Order can make them the most money and (hopefully) as well they simply love being back together. Barney's mentioned Electronic is finished, I think Hooky/Pottsy have pretty much permenantly folded Monaco, and The Other Two are obviously no longer with us (Sick child, Gillian "resigning" from NO)

If they do another album like Get Ready I will be disappointed though .. ditch that "NERNERNER" guitar sound and rediscover keyboards lads ..

My £0.02 anyway ..

Six times, I think. New Order I can quote till I'm blue in the face but with Revenge I haven't got a clue about dates and times. Or even years. I know their debut gig was a Skin 2 bash, so didn't make that but did see 'em on their first mini-tour in Cambridge. Saw 'em once at the Marquee supported by Northside and sat at the bar all night getting caned till they did Dreams Never End as the encore. Then there was the Powerhaus, Cities in the Park (Dreams NE dedicated to Hannett!), T&C2 and a gig at a Students Union in Aldgate where the room was fully of dry ice which cleared to find us being faced by a tiny Hooky (the stage wasn't raised) playing Deadbeat, which was then unreleased and I, like everyone else, assumed the PA was still playing.. .

Welcome, Ally! It seems as though the population here is suddenly exploding, for some reason.

Let's say it's difficult to get the full "gigography" of the side-projects.

Whatever anyone might say about Revenge, I do love the song 'State Of Shock' - a classic, especially in the full length version on the UK release, not that edit in the US.

l8rs,

Which reminds me Ally, despite being one of the only people to have the early Here To Stay with extra lyrics.. you have those live versions of Monaco shows, plus I'm sure you must have the See-Saw mixes in something else than 12"...

Any luck to ask Pottsy to release those? (not Here To Stay, though I'd like a 30 secs clip for the site)
