I can't believe you guys, you will force me to include TPK in the list of worst New Order songs?

It's in the top 5 poll!!!

Yes, it's an edit, but it's not the worst song on the album :) It won best song for the same album !!!

Just goes to show......we like the real version, not the edit ! There are no bad songs on Low Life, each of them would stand up easily today if played.

I thought it was only me but now I realised is a quite widespread opinion. Let's face it: THERE ARE NO WORST SONGS IN LOW LIFE. Period. This poll should be put to rest together with all the angst and depression caused by it. Spotnick, let it go, man, just let it go.

Listened to the whole of Low Life for the first time in ages for this poll (voted Subculture by the way). Does anyone else think the production badly dates the album now ? I think it sounds very '80's pop'.

It definately sounds like 1985, but on the other hand, the production on most of Brotherhood....

i'll give you that...still love how it sounds though...brings me back to a simpler time in my life.

Feel compelled to defend Sunrise & Face Up. I'll give the benefit of the doubt to those who've voted for either that they have never witnessed them being played live. Both cracking choons.

The band playing Sunrise on Whistle Test from the Hacienda in '85 is one of my fave NO on TV moments. Barney's fractured guitar sound, his concentration, Hooky's classic bass stance, moody synths & furious drumming. Perfick New Order.

As for, TTON....one of the blandest things they've done IMHO. Just can't get passionate about it. I know some folks love it e.g. Nick, but just don't geddit meself.

Each to their own.

Brian, is it you holding up the 'Face Up' placard at Gorge??

not me but i did take the picture...i wish i knew who that was though. for those who haven't seen it...check Tours and Concerts - Get Ready - Gorge and scroll down...also a good pic of JGiles and AJarvis etc. holding up a Union Jack with Ceremony scralled through the center...it worked! (eventually) What will you guys "request" next? Sunrise would be awesome and I completely agree that live versions of FaceUp are ACE!

I voted for Face Up, a little cheesy, but I still really like the song, but the rest is just so damn good.

Perfect Kiss I can understand people voting for, but the edit is still great, but I am a fan of the 12" version.

Cheers ALEX

Hmmm...had to go for Sooner than you think just over Elegia. I love the version of Subculture on here, its a thousand times better than that hideous Substance remix.

Too right about that remix. One of their low points without a doubt. Don't think I've played it since '85.

I agree. By the way, does anyone know where can I download any DECENT Subculture remix?

sunrise used to be my favorite but now it's this time of night. when lowlife's in the car changer i could listen to track number three over and over for an hour long car ride.

If theres one thing i hate, it's wailing backing singers and Subculture's Substance mix has tonnes of this. Low Life is a great album and i couldn't vote for TPK, but i do skip it as it cannot compare to the splendour of the full length version.

What is all this 'Negetive worst of shit..? Threre are no worst or shit songs on 'LOW-lIFE' and for those who voted 'Sunrise, Elegia...get real.....you obviously havent heard em play them live!! Enough said.

I had a hard time choosing between "Sunrise" and "Sooner Than You Think".... I find the latter unmemorable but "Sunrise" is the one I always skip. I think it sounds more out of place on a mainly synth driven album more so than "Face Up", which I think is a great album closer.

Crap, I just realized that this was a vote for the worst song on Low Life, not the best. I voted for Sunrise, which is easily the best.

Too true, though I've gotta admit that I did vote for Elegia cause I have pulled the needle off the record a couple of times. :o:o:o

There are no bad songs on Low Life...this is an undisputable fact.

I even like the edit of TPK as its a nice little taster before the gargantuan 12" version.

Face Up and Sunrise used to get a great response from the more lively members of the audience - it would be nice to see these re-introduced to the set from time to time.

I voted for Elegia, but i'm not proud of it...Low-Life is one of my favourite albums of all time. And i like Elegia, of course...

None of them are sufficiently bad to merit a vote.

Incredibly tough decision. Not really a weak song amongst them. Voted for STYT at a push. All in all a superb album.

I can't vote either. It's a lot easier to say what's the BEST about this album

Sunrise Elegia The part in "Face Up" where the guitars kick in after he says "Guess what I'm gonna do to you!"

Eligia

Went with STYT, but really the Perfect Kiss on this one just ain't THE Perfect Kiss, now is it?! Should've gone with that one, but it's big brother's a classic so it's hard to vote it out. The edit is one of their worst though, imo. A late album filler, and nothing more.
