Why blame London? What is the story behind Retro and International?

a lot of people seem to often blame London (New Order's big label label) for International tracklist, the format of Retro, the setlist for live shows, that NewOrder wants to break their contract (doubtful anyway)... where is the evidence?????

sure, London is part of a big heartless record label run by guys who do not like any music after Pink Floyd... but c'mon, i just don't see the evidence of New Order being major label pawns, London knows they have an older cult audience, and that New Order is hardly A-list potential in sales. even Iron maiden has a special 6 disc box set!

so what is story behind Retro and International, the constant indecisiveness, the name changes, the delays, the kinda wishy-washy result that does not fit into any demographic? is this all the result of indecisiveness on the part of the band, with no clear goal decided on? i think it is absurd to think that will be a "real" fan boxset after this... this is it! (unless it moves 8 billion units and i'm sure money would motivate the band and London to release their answering machine messages on special edition DVD, but thats in the future)
