Synths used on 'Perfect Kiss'

Question: Can anyone tell me the synth, and which patch was used for the chord pads on the twelve inch of 'Perfect Kiss' - the bits you see Gillian playing in the video.

I've a feeling that in the video, and when they do it live now, they use a different sound/synth, as the patch on the single has more clout to it. I've always thought the sound had a great "piercing" quality to it, and would still sound good on a dance track now, even though that was way back in 1985.

I'm just interested to know which piece of kit, and which effects were used to make those gorgeous chord stabs. As I say, I don't think it's the same synth in the video - unless tons of outboard effects were applied to it when recording the single version.

Cheers Andy. i've got a synthesizer from ROLAND, a JV-2080 with some expansion boards. There is a patch called "80's synth brass" which sounds very similar to the one you're looking for.

Gillian played the Octave Voyetra 8 on The Perfect Kiss and on most songs from the '83-'87 period. I'm guessing that the patch was something that the band programmed themselves. You can read about the synth here: http://www.vintagesynth.org/misc/voyetra8.shtml
