"There not used to playing ball, and New Orders first box-set is no exception; they've even got someone else to compile it. Retro spans 21 years and four CD's but eschews chronology in favour of a DIY approach. Miranda Sawyer's Pop CD kicks off with 1988's acid house anomaly Fine Time - nearly a greatest hits; John McCready's Fan delves into rock/dance LP tracks and B-sides while ex-Hacienda DJ Mike Pickering sifts choice remixes on Club. Bobby Gillespie's Live is less satisfactory. A bonus CD, which in cludes rare live material, is free with the first 3,000 copies."

Retro appeared mysteriously outside my door last night...i think a neighbor may have snagged it from the mail boxes and felt guilty....

Can anyone answer the question "Why did they only use an extract from the instrumental of Let's Go?"

This is a huge mistake and pointless edit...someone please explain the thought process in fading out the track half way through...

Aye, I saw this, nice big picture too.

I know they were pressed for space and all, but it would have been nice if they'd explained why the Live CD, which has several fabulous tracks on it, was deemed "less satisfactory".

Still, four out of five, that was twice as good as Girls Aloud's single got. Great, eh?
