But after finally getting my mitts on it yesterday (cheers to Donnie B
) I had the pleasure of listening to loads of it last night!
Thank fuck that 5th CD was released
I'm not critisising here, all I mean, is it's fucking fantastic to have Temptation 98 and The Perfect Kiss sounding absolutely brilliant!
I had to put up with a shite quality tape I copied from my video's, and I know there's loadsa regal reasons why they can't put stuff out on CD, but it'd be absolutely brilliant if I could hear the songs from Big World Cafe, The Whistle Test, TOTP, Switch, Celebration et al, in all their fantastic sounding glory!
I don't mean to sound ungreatful.....I woulda paid the £32 fer Temptation & TPK alone:D
Nice wee booklet that came with it, gotta say fair play to ATR fer getting his name on the credits at the end, he's a helpful soul.
All in all I think that RETRO is worth every penny, and it's been a great week after getting Finsburgh Palace on DVD.
Also enjoyed the added features on 5 11, and Jarvo & Paula getting their 5 minutes of glory;) It was great seeing the footage of the Ally Pally gig, although again I was really pissed aff that I wasnae on it! When Hooky joins Gillian, myself, John & Lorraine were right in front of them, but there was a fucking speaker on stage covering us
Ach well
Does anyone know if there's any chance of seeing these gigs (I include the Apollo, MENA & Reading gigs as well)
I guess they're just for the band, but it would be great to see these wonderful gigs again, with the amount of beer we get through before the gig, memories are somewhat hazy!
Thank God, Lorraine always has the camera!
