as much as I'd like to visit those other places, I had to vote DC, because it's closest to me.

seattle!
for me anywhere would be nice, but i'd vote for toronto even though nyc and montreal are closer to me, and i've been to seattle and want to go back. toronto was where i had my honeymoon, its a great city.
I'm torn between NYC, Montreal and Toronto (there's a pretty image, I suppose
). Like Wen, even though I'm closest to DC, I can't see any good reason to hold it there (unless we drunkenly heckle the White House security guards, but something tells me that's not a good idea)
I don't think it can be done in only 1 place...
But I'm going to Florida next month... so... ![]()
I already expect not being able to feel from the butt after that drive... ![]()
My vote is for no where. If I wanted to hang around with people who still live with their parents, I would go down to the grade school and volunteer my time...
Just joking. I know some of you only live with your sisters.
I think we're going to have to have two (maybe three) different get togethers. I voted for New York, but anything near the east coast or maybe something like Toronto or Montreal would be fine. Detroit would actually be the logical choice for me, but I'm not too fond of that city.

You're so bitter, Wolfmann ![]()

I think the get together should in Grand Rapids. There is nothing really fun to do around here, so it won't detract from our listening to and debating NO's merits.

Yeah, I'm ok with Grand Rapids, if it's just a get together with us onliners. However, I thought there was talk of doing a club thing. If that is the case, I wouldn't expect much of a turn out in Grand Rapids. Besides can you see a bunch of New Order/Joy Division fans hanging out at The Bob or worse, The Maxum, or Bucking Beaver?
These are all local clubs, and I don't expect anyone outside of Grand Rapids to know what I'm talking about.

you expected me to just let that one slide?
Detroit is the closest to me, but I could make the drive to TO or Chicago. Cleveland is nice for the RocknRoll HoF side trip.
I suggest Dayton, OH, because flight was invented here and Guided By Voices is from the area. ;)
:D:D:D:D anita
Detroit, for the sole reason that my beloved Jen lives about an hour from there....not so much an ex-gf, but whenever I'm in the Michigan area, it's on again :D ![]()
Toronto for me.
Just for the sheer fact, I'm a lazy bastard and it will take it all of about 45 minutes to get into the city.
