Western Work Demos... ?

I think they are included on the 'Stravaganza' bootleg.

I have a coloured vinyl 7" of this stuff and the quality is at best very poor. Not official in ANY way at all. As mentioned earlier, it is unlikely that we will ever hear this stuff as it was recorded at the time.

The Western Works Studios in Sheffield were owned by Cabaret Voltaire. A cassette recording of the selfsame tracks (as included on the 7", including the Walter's Weekly interview) was included as a bonus in the 3LP box set 'Dreams Never End' (which has audience recordings of Hamburg and Berlin '81).

I have Western Works on a 7" with an orange label which has a picture of Bernard playing live. Quality is not good, but I've kept it over my other collection of boots because it has Homage on it. Whereas the other three tracks seem like JD carry-overs, Homage comes across as the first New Order song. I may be wrong, but for this reason it's special to me.

I read in the NME once that Homage has once been available on cd. It was some sort of European compilation. Not sure if it was Benelux, though.
