The FAQ height list is wrong. More like: Bernard and Hooky about 5'8/9",Steven 5'9/10" and Ian probably 6' or just under - not 6'3"!!!
Another thing - does anyone else agree that True Faith live works better a la Glastonbury 87 (great intro from Bernard -was that the first live performance?), as opposed to the post Reading 98 'remix'?

82% of us do, according to a poll named True Faith Live that Spotnick started a month ago. And yes, Glastonbury 1987 was the debut of "True Faith" live.
according to Debbie Curtis, Ian was quite over 6', 6'3" or something like that. I don't know about those FAQ Barney and Hooky heights, they do sound short.

Hooky and Barney can only be about 5'6, maybe 5'7 at an absolute push. My Mrs is 5'7 and towers over them both (admittedly, in heels though - her in them, not NewOrder).
It never ceases to amaze me that people think they must actually be TALL!

Mind you Jarvo, looking down from 6'4" or whatever you are gives a slightly different impression ! Hooky's certainly no more than 5'5" or 5'6".

They're still a pair of midgets, mind.
i should say they were 5"8 to 5"10 some years back but over the years especially with stimulant abuse and not much hard work you will lose a few inches of your height. you do in old age any way. my dads gone from 5"11 to 5"8 now and his only 50 and his got a phsyical job and has never smoked.

he has got a point there. not about him specifically, of course, as i've never met our shug! 
although, as a rather tall girl myself (5'9), i do generally like to look up to, or at least at eye level with my men.

Sorry to be pedantic about this but there is no way that the FAQ height list is right. Johnny Marr is 5'8 and Bernard is more or less the same height as him in any Electronic picture (in some a little taller). Also look at the WIM video, Hooky is more or less the same as Steve McMahon (then Liverpool) who is 5'9. Those who say they're 5'6 have strange spatial awareness - Keith Allen's around that height and Bernard is definitely taller than him.Although it's not amazingly important, there's a big difference between 5'6 and 5'9: the FAQ shoud be changed. Point taken?

I'd have said Keef Allen's nearer 5'4. I was shocked first time I saw him in the flesh. Not sure piccies tell the true story - Curtis was supposedly 6'3 but he doesn't look like a giant when you see him in any Joy Division shots, when compared with the rest of the little munchkins.

5'4! good lord! well, i'm not surprised as he does seem to have what i call 'angry little man syndrome'. (see napoleon, attila the hun and adolf hitler as other examples.) these are small men who have very strong personalities. they may be short but you probably wouldn't want to piss them off for fear of serious retribution. as a rower, i came across many of these in the form of the male coxswain. keith allen fits this profile to a 't'!
