Only the Lonely->Leave Me Alone. Working titles for the earlier tracks were used during a songs genesis in live sets. Ecstasy was a studio concoction.

"KW1" is still used on some setlists by the band. And "My Cock is as big as the M1" was actually a lyric during Blue Monday...as well as "I've got a Cock like a Squashed Orange".

Even in it's radical early form, with completely different lyrics...TPK has basically always been TPK...or Kiss of Death. (Duh...)

What's puzzling me at the moment is something that was brought up on a thread started by Four Forty Five on the title Only The Lonely. I've got the first issue of the American cassette version of PC&L, and the tracklisting is as follows:

ONE: Age Of Consent; We All Stand; The Village; 5-8-6; Blue Monday

TWO: KWI; Ultraviolence; Only The Lonely; Leave Me Alone; The Beach.

Going by that, it doesn't seem likely that Only The Lonely and Leave Me Alone are the same thing, or is that just a massive cock-up at the printers?

I don't think Leave Me Alone ever really was called "Only The Lonely" - the early live lyrics always included the lines "leave me alone" (not that that is necessarily much of an indication :)). I'd always had OTL down as being a working title for Ecstacy, personally.

I've an old bootleg (Vinyl Solution) with alternate titles for some of Low Life's songs - The Japanese One, When We Were Young, etc etc. Whether this is from the original setlist or the bootleggers imagination I have no idea...

Great cover on this one which i too own.Yes the song titles are very different.Paid £12 for this in mint condition about 1989! Cheers Rocket Mick
