It doesn't take a lot to confuse me, but I'm aware of the voting tendencies of many on here.

Now drink this magic potion  and vote to kick out Close Range next time.

You've done it before and you'll do it again, leaving Close Range right up to the end - how can it be that you all love this song, when Primitive Notion's the best all along......

By far, the best song on Get Ready. Just a shame the Order didn't include it in the live set - maybe next time? The song structure reminds me somewhat of TPK.

man, all the songs left in this increasingly evil poll are great ones, including 'primitive notion'.

and i've got a message i need to send. it's coming to you straight from a friend--up against 'close range'...well...but it's a top song, no doubt. so don't look at me with your critical smile. :D

Primitive Notion is the best New Order song of this century so far and easily in my top 5 of New Order songs of all time. Brilliant classic Hooky opening, 'driving' drums by Stephen, fantastic noisy bits, great melody, wonderful build up. There's nothing wrong about this song. It was my favourite track on GR when I heard it the first time and it still is.

Ahhh, so many good tracks left to elimate...I can't do it

Yeh, it's damn cool, reminds me of 24 Hours (but that's not the sole good thing about it, nor is it the point of the song)

Brilliant track mates !!! i'm with you

Yeah, a top track & definitely worthy of some live performances next time round - but will someone  creep in and give Close Range immunity ? :skeptic:

Luckily i spotted the poll for day 13 before anyone else (except maybe RocketMick) and got PN immunity.

I agree with all the praise for Primitive Notion mentioned above...great song. I have serious doubts about the mental state of those who do not like this masterpiece. Should be listening to that Oasis record or following NME trend setters (Strokes, Vines, et.al) rather than the Order if PN isn't your cup of tea....everything that makes the Order wonderful wrapped up in one song.

Must admit I find PN pretty boring and can't understand what all the fuss is about.

Not a patch on a song like Sunrise which is off a similar ilk.

I much prefer SLY and Close Range it has to be said from the GR era.

at least your man enough to admit to liking SLY. another great song that gets the shaft because of a bad chorus...and this from people who are willing to overlook even worse lyrics in Slow Jam and Rock The Shack.

I love SLY but Primitive Notion just captures a mood that they haven't captured since Low Life. Sunrise may be better but Primitive Notion is still top shelf material.

The point emerging recently is NewOrder have returned to form and are writing great music....now, if they could only get their ass in gear with regards to set lists, release dates, remixes, promotion etc..

My favourite track on the album as well, wasnae that keen on it at first, but after a while and without realising, it was always a song I found myself singing at work:nod:

That's what I thought when I first heard it. It does have that JD feel about it. By far the best song of the GR era. I would have it in my favourite 10 NO songs of all time.

Certainly my favorite track on Get Ready, beside Turn My Way (sorry!). Pure New Order sound. Pure emotion. Great production. Great lyrics.

They should REALLY add that one on their next setlists. It would fit very well right after 'Guilty Partner' now, wouldn't it? :)

not as good as close range, but it is up there with crystal

We can dream ;) I'd even go as far as to say I'd rather they learn how to play Primitive Notion live than regurgitate an old song.
